Those crazy fans would probably say he did it all to protect Marco, but that’s nonsense. Forgiveness doesn’t necessarily mean trust, and trust definitely doesn’t always mean love, and love doesn’t necessarily mean marriage.
sometimes games are supposed to make you feel bad because they exist to tell a thematically compelling/emotionally impactful story rather than purely make a person feel good. that scene wasn’t particularly enjoyable to me either but i’m glad it exists because of how it serves the characters’ development and the story in general.
as for a warning, yeah i’ll concede that that may have been warranted.
