Which version are you using? Steam one or itch legacy one?
3DNesVR V2.1 and I downloaded the app from itch.io . I'm using an Oculus Rift with the app.
I guess your rom name didn't match with the profile name so the profile hadn't been loaded. Please verify it.
Moreover if you can install the latest build from Steam. It's so much better and has a lot more content.
