...Wait are the Echo Project games based on one of the many real places named Echo?

(+2)

This is the same Echo from Echo but a different time isn't it? You even see old photos with some of these characters in the Echo game.

I'm sure it is the same one. I dunno, it just sounded like you were referring to place you've been in real life. I know there are multiple towns IRL called Echo.

no I never been to one, places like this do exist though but I would never go to one I would probably have a mental brake down if I found myself in Chase's shoes. Just reading about had my stomach in knots I can only imagine how I would react if I found myself in that situation for real.

If I were to guess, I'd say the games are based on abandoned mining towns in either New Mexico, or Arizona. I couldn't find one named Echo, but there are a lot of similarities, like the Mesita tribe's whereabouts, and the temperature and landscape. What's interesting, is that there is a city called Pueblo in South Colorado, which is the name of the college that Jenna and Chase were enrolled in during the game. TJ Chase and Jenna's long drive at the beginning of the game would be very similar to driving to Western New Mexico or to eastern Arizona.

I can't find a single place named Echo around those parts.

There's a former coaling station named Echo in Utah. Dunno if the coal mines were also there, but it did have a brothel.
