If your save stops working after updating the game, then in the game itself, on the save pages, go to the Q section (quick saves) and select one of the three saves. This usually fixes the problem.
And don't be afraid to start the game over. If this is your first playthrough, you'll like the first monsters and interactions with them.
This is one of those games that are sometimes interesting to start from the very beginning. Because the gameplay gradually changes. For example, versions 0.19, 0.51 and 0.69 differ significantly in terms of quest content, hints and some barely noticeable details.
And with save files, we really have a problem on this site, because if you leave a link, everyone who wants to uses it immediately. Therefore, sometimes it is easier to start the game over than to get such a file.
In any case, when I start the game over, I use all possible methods to speed up the game. For example: Celica immediately starts learning, uses items, improves parameters. And when Nel becomes available, she does routine.
