I was really confused by the movement in the game. I also got an error when I tried to run it in the Project64 emulator, "Your emulator is not accurate enough to run this ROM. Specifically, it doesn't support accurate PI DMA". I got it to run using the Ares emulator you used to do the dev. Great job getting it to run on an actual emulator. I'm not convinced the game fits the N64 art style though, lol. It looks a lot more like the old DOOM game. I'm super impressed that you rolled your own engine on this game. I didn't get too far into the actual story unfortunately.

I really like the style and overall concept but I had a lot of trouble with the movement and overall controls (may have been my emulator setup?). I think the OoT idea you discussed below would be really helpful.


Really cool that it's compiled as an actual N64 game though!

Controls really need another pass for refinement, but I intend to rewrite the renderer, so to allow me smoother movement and (more importantly) looking around with the analog stick.

I Played it for a while, disengaged the magnetic coupling, entered the locked room but had not enough rank to enter the next door, couldn't manage how to pick up the items in the floor. Overall looks very interesting, maybe some music would be great!

The UX still is a problem for all versions of the game (with the Master System and MSX versions being a bit less confusing, bit quite cumbersome). 

I might take the Ocarina of Time approach and display some contextual indications on the screen, representing the C buttons. What do you think about it?

Hi, I tried to launch the rom with project64 and I get the message "your emulator is not accurate enough". Is there a fix ? Thanks

Lol, that's one weird message!

I suspect this is the case of high level emulators vs cycle accurate emulators. The HLEs tend to focus on what's necessary to only run the commercial games, rather than really reproducing the machine. I suggest you try CEN64 or maybe Ares (which I used for development).

I'm still working on this. Just submitting to the jam, so I get a kick in the butt and finish up at least something for the Jam, which was my big motivation to do this.
