Just reading the other comments. I personally don’t have an issue with the drum entrance, but it’s maybe a tad too loud in the mix? I thought you set up a very nice atmosphere, definitely sounds “underwater”. And is mysterious, but not overly dark. I felt it was more meditative than uneasy. Also it depends on the context that the song would be used in, but I thought it’d be nice to have some sort of countermelody introduced in the second half (maybe a higher piano melody or a higher synth line) just to keep interest up a bit more as there is not much change in the texture after the drums come in. Good job!
yeah i agree with you on the drums being too loud. as for making the second half interesting, i didn't have many ideas. i thought the drums already added enough variety. the intention was for it to play in the background, so i thought to keep it simple. adding more stuff, like a countermelody, could work if i had enough free time to think about it and work on the track. thanks for the feedback!
Yeah, I don’t think it’s strictly necessary either. Especially if the song was in the background for a game or something, there’s definitely enough going on already :)
Very atmospheric, moody, chill track capturing the majesty and great unknowns of the ocean! The drums are simply captivating and really make it all come together! High production quality and a very pleasant listen. Great work!!! ^^
i'm glad that i captured the feel of the track very well, thank you!
wooow! the chords and distant bell lead sound in the beginning brought such a strong sense of unease and uncertainty, and i was honestly caught off guard by the drums and bass when they initially came in. the drums and bass bring more certainty and a sort of light to the track that wasn't really there before. they end up meshing together so well eventually, but i think there can be a little bit more of a buildup/transition into the drum section. i really enjoyed your track !! keep it up
thank you so much! and yeah, it does need some sort of buildup, but i never figured out how to do it well, so i just left it as is. thanks for the feedback, and you too as well!
