I really do think that a lot of the government jobs are like this, figure out what to sacrifice to maximize your votes. But, what I missed in the game was corruption(animation wise). At some moment I just started to optimize the numbers to win and stopped reading. I expected some random dude, who look suspicious to come with a suitcase and offer me a bribe(maybe as a random event if you decide do go further). And I think the Synty office pack has that. Great experience overall, straight forward game with no confusion what so ever. Good Job! I won the elections with 190K in funds, without spending any money on approval at the end of the game.
Hey, thanks for the feedback and for playing! One of the ideas I had was actually similar to what you said - when the player goes too much into debt, and event is triggered where a foreign lobby bribes you, forcing corruption but you get basically a lifeline.
fun game, really fun
I enjoyed this, and it's a clever little government simulator. The idea too that "Corruption is timeless" is smart, though I would like to see more bills and events relating to this, like simulated lobbying, maybe even an option to funnel funds out of the campaign into private businesses. You could even have achievements that reward different play styles. One thing I noticed is that after your first term you can just do nothing and you'll always win as the stats from the previous term carry over and there is no penalty for not responding to your inbox. Maybe have all the stats and money tick down over time if you don't do anything so there's a reason to keep responding. Still, it was fun and I'd play a full version if you finish it.
Thank you for the feedback! I agree that the theme isn't nearly as clear here as I'd like it to be, so more events (and specifically corruption ones, with repercussions) are the next thing on my radar - alongside making elections more difficult (and election-only events).
Did what any crooked politician would do and started printing money like crazy. 2 million $ in debt, 500 approval rating and I won! 😏Fun game overall.
Thanks a lot for the feedback! Btw your screenshot reminds me that I didn't set up UI properly lol
Just in case anyone is wondering how this fits the theme (as I know I kind of stretched "timeless" far) - the idea is that corruption in politics is inevitable, and as such timeless. For the full game, I want to show that through pushing the player into making tough decisions where they try to balance staying in power while remaining moral.
