Controls are very wonky in this one. I’m pretty sure I would have preferred if the WASD keys were always relative to the current camera angle and not to the player.
Graphics look decent.
Gameplay-wise, there just isn’t much there yet, so it’s hard to judge. I’m also not sure how much can be done with the engine. Keep working on it, though! Might turn into something nice.
There seems to be inconsistencies in the web and downloaded version.
The downloaded (on win) has a pitch black cutscene, but ok top down lighting on the character.
The web version has a good cutscene, but lighting gets odd pretty soon, and it becomes real hard to play once you enter the coffee shop.
Hopefully more people play your game, because I'm scared to complain too much on lighting as someone who isn't a horror fan. Good game :D
The web one didn't work, so I played the Windows one under WINE on linux. Some of the fonts and stuff didn't render right, so I couldn't read the text.
Overall nice sound and ambiance, well done getting something 3d and playable done in 3 hours!
thank you!
Downloading the Game has better results!
Your web build still seems to be broken, but I downloaded the game and tried it out. I like the fixed camera angles - it makes me think of Playstation 1 horror games. I would love to see a more full version of this. I'm not sure if I really understand the point or the plot, but the aesthetic was great.
Im releasing a full version soon. Ill let you know when i do.
I really like the overall mood and concept, and even the low quality of the visuals gives it a nice liminal feel. The use of complete darkness as a game mechanic is really interesting, and it definitely toes the line between interesting and frustrating. Also, I didn't see any explanation of the controls, so it took a couple minutes to figure out what to do (not sure if that was intentional). I think to make this a fuller game, there should be better gamification of the darkness—what do players get from walking around in the darkness? It might also help to introduce a narrative from the start or at least soon after the game begins. Solid prototype!
Hey! It seems your browser export is broken. Hence the low number of contribution in here :) I think you still have time to fix it
Thank you so much! I got it fixed now so hopefully more people can play!
