I really enjoyed it sir! Thanks for using the physics made it so amazing to watch the bubbles interact.

Very original concept, and it's pretty cool to play with for a while. A great concept to iterate upon. Perhaps some mechanic should allow to swap the current atom to shoot. Have a nice soundtrack that could be a good relaxing game.

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, for a next version I’m thinking of mechanics that allow for a bit more strategy - having a finite amount of times you can discard an atom sounds like a good idea.

As a proof concept, it has potential, but if you are going to develop it further, it will need some more depth to the gameplay. It would be nice to see that if can hit say two (-2)s with a single (+4), that would also pop them.

Goo submission.

Developer

I’m not thinking much of that but eventually my plan is to have things like e.g. burst combos, possibly add some dynamics (like the pop pushes the surrounding numbers a bit), add bonuses (like recovering one life, strengthening the central attraction that keeps the particles from leaving the circle and so on), an anticipation of what the next particle will be, and so on. It’s inspired by Tetris and Puzzle Bobble, and I’d like it to have a similar arcade-y feel.

It is a nice idea! The movement of the particles was a bit discontinuous, but I enjoyed the art style :D

By the way, after the death controls don't work anymore (at least on the linux version).

You should press R to restart, does that not work? I just uploaded a WebGL version too.

For the particles, did you notice something in particular? I’ve seen some occasions in which they seem to slightly jiggle in place when playing by myself, but not always. I assume it’s something to do with the physics engine’s collision handling, may be fixable if I tune its parameters properly.

Submitted(+1)

Yes, it doesn't work after pressing R :/ Web version has the same issue.

For the particles - they indeed jiggle, but it seems to happen almost always if there is more than 5-6 of them on the field.

Developer(+1)

Ah, yes, I see the bug now. I’ll fix it at least in the web version.

The collision engine is probably acting funny. I won’t get into that now but I’ll improve it for any eventual future versions.
