I liked that.  I'm not sure it was intentional, but I had to hit the z key a few times to 'light' the thruster, then I could hold it down to keep progressing. I did finish this game and it was very satisfying to find the escape pod.

Developer

Thanks for the replay. That is defiantly not intentional. The thruster should just work by holding down 'z' key.  Did you play with the web build of the game or the windows build?

Ok, I did some testing and I think you were playing with the web build.  Yeah, I had the same issue. How I fixed on my end was to refresh the page and it started working. I'm going to have to look into this more to see if there is a better work around for it. Sorry about that.

Very cool game! Its a simple yet effective/fun concept! For this to have been made in just a few hours is really cool. Good job!

Developer

Thank you for your kind reply. I had a lot of fun making this.

GREAT job getting this game working in the short dev time! Yes, you went over the three hours recommended, but I assume you were doing all the assets as well as all the programming, and that's tough for just one person to do in such a short time. You made a great game!

Developer

That for the really kind reply. Yeah, I did do all the art, sound fx, and music . I did cheat a bit with the music. I was working on another project before I started working on this project for the jam. I think the music fits better for this project more then that one though due to the test project being lighthearted and this one being a little darker.

That was a sweet short expertience. At first I was like "crap, I'll never find that escape pod" but that tracking thing really helped to navigate this huge empty space. The controls worked well and I liked the camera since it fits the scenario although it might be irritating for some people.

The escape pod-tracker wasn't explained anywhere so I avoided it the first few rounds - it might be a good idea to include it in the description.

Good job!

I'm happy you had fun with my game. Also thanks for the reply. I agree that the camera system would be irritating to some and at worse cases disorientating. I wounder if adding in some camera smoothing might alleviate that issue some what... Hmm, I just did a little testing. Adding in camera smoothing actually makes it feel the space dude is moving in said space instead of just staying in one spot. Also I could increase the speed of rotations a bit as well. Thanks for you input :)

Also sorry about not adding the description about the tracker. I guess my memory isn't how it use to be. I hate getting older. I'm going to added that in post jam. But I might as well leave it in this comment for those who are view. Plus as a reminder to myself to add it.

This is the escape pod tracker. If you collect it will draw a line from the player to the escape pod.

Tell me about it... My game had a spelling error in one of the levels where it said "obious" instead of obvious... so I opened it up, corrected it, build, zipped and exported again and when I checked the next day... it said "obivous" - because checking things is hard and reuploads are so much fun.

You could add the hint to the game-page-description. That doesn't count to the 3 hours in this jam and  rocknightstudios usually reads that on stream.
