Nice color palette, nice 8-bit sound and music.
But I have a question : can we lose ?
Thanks for playing!
Unfortunately I did not get to coding any damage/game over.
My next jam goal is to create a full start->finish game system!
Awesome style! It's got a Halloween spookiness to it. I ended up collecting 359 souls. Fun!
By not collecting souls, I made a protective barrier around me! Mwahahaa!
That's awesome! You really went all out on "beating" the game lol
Your screenshot has reminded me to fully learn the Godot collision mapping system again haha. I did not intend for souls to collide with enemies :P
Thanks for playing!
I love the art in this game. It is really nice and very 'hand drawn' which looks really great. This game shows that sloppy art can look amazing in a game. Also, very good 8 bit soundtrack.
Thank you! I had so much fun with the music generator (linked in description. it's amazing)
The art approach was fun as well. I spent a little time during pre-production creating a rough pixel art sketch in Photoshop of what I envisioned, then just took my sketches and broke them into final game assets!
So I really wasn't fussy with doing perfect pixel art which would have taken far more time.
I really like the art. With a game over the game could be really cool ! However I think the link with the theme is not that strong, even If I think I understand how you interpreted it. And thanks to your game i've discovered a cool website for making proceduraly generated music.
YES! That tool is just incredible. The other week I spent literally hours just randomizing it and listening to it. It's like an 8-Bit Bach composer! Love the classical style of it!
Thanks for playing, and sorry to say I did not follow the theme. I know themes are strongly encouraged, but I didn't have enough time to implement the theme (My theme idea was going to be not dropping the magical egg -- the ghost enemies would knock you over and you'd drop it after 3 hits)
