How does your game relate to the theme?
In the game you play as a being of darkness shooting down all "lights" that appear. Dark and Light are usually seen as opposites.

Controls to play your game:
A/D or left/right arrow keys to move. Spacebar to shoot.

I have the impression that the gimmick is lacking.

For example, you can get two points at the same time if you shoot down two lights almost overlapping, or if you take items that appear along the way, you can use penetrating bullets with a limited number of shots (or time limit), etc. It seems like a lot of things could be put in.

Otherwise, the game is easy to operate and fun.

I got 44 points.

My best highscore ended up on 45.
Cool and simple arcade game. Would be cool and unique mechanics, and having some type of visual pleasing effects when hitting the lights.
Good job!

Nice little arcade game.

I liked the art and the sound. The game was simple but fun. Nice work.

I didn't want to play again right after though... so maybe it could've used some other elements to add some random element. If you want to add to it after the jam I think there's some places to take it.

Cheers, good luck with the jam.

Simple but cute space-invaders type game! My high score was 48. You've got a nice base to build off, and you could add lots of different mechanics here:

  • Some lights drop power-ups like rapid-fire or a shadow beam
  • A boss battle against a large light
  • Have the lights shoot lasers back at you
  • A clone power up to give you multiple shadows, maybe moving in opposite directions
  • Hitting a close light casts a shadow which can hit lights that are further away

Most important thing is that you got a game finished and out though, great work :)
