oof. i don't think i've ever said this before, but i don't think i can finish this.
it is well-written, and the way the branching works seems fascinating and extremely up my alley! i think it's just scraping against something delicate. but i suppose that means it's effective at being exactly what it's intended to be, so, well done.
Thanks! For the comment, for playing, and especially for stopping when you did; I hope it didn't upset you too much.
Good writing :)
Thank you :)
Not something I'm into, but fantastically well written and I'm sure that this will be a treat for anyone who has sexual fantasies on the rougher side! Good job making something that you're passionate about instead of compromising for a wider audience.
The quality of the writing is great and it does an excellent job of painting vivid imagery and getting the reader to identify with the protagonist. The color-coded status reports maintain the sense of struggle where the player feels like there's a chance to do better or pursue different outcomes. I think you've got a good setup for focusing on the types of kinks this game features.
This is a well-executed erotic text adventure even for someone who makes them regularly, but it's your first and was finished in just a single week, which is ridiculous! Anyone who enjoys this type of story will be very pleased to have an awesome new writer to follow, and you've given plenty of content warnings for those who don't!
Thank you! Seriously, kind words mean so much, I spent two days after submitting this game terrified that normal people will tell me to get lost and scrape this thing from the internet :D
The status reports were half of the fun in making this game tbh, and I'm excited with what I explored while making them - for example how the "mechanical" "non-plot" text is just as important (if not MORE important) to the feel of the story as the "narrative" text (false dichotomy, but useful). Or how the use of the mechanic forces me to write more exciting scenes.
I write games in my day-to-day life (just not erotic games), so I know about these things, but they hit differently on a project that is so deeply personal. So seeing how this game starts to work better for me when I use the mechanic was awesome.
Also, I normally don't write functions, variables are all I need, so spending a day hyperfocused on teaching my smut how to count was surprising and interesting :D
People on the internet get judgmental and angry about things they're not into or don't understand, and you just have to ignore them because they're not who you're making your games for. I can tell that your project came from your heart, and that's infinitely more important than whatever the "broader audience" may like. It sounds like you've had a lot of fun with all of the new stuff that you got to try and that's a really precious experience that you wouldn't have had otherwise!
I think you're completely correct about the mechanical text, it just makes the story more personal by giving or taking something away from the players themselves rather than just the character.
Jast passing by, but I heard something outrageous and I want to interject.
If someone ever tell you to delete what you make and scrap it, gently direct them to me, we will have some "explaining" going on. *crack knuckles*
Jokes aside, this story is a really odd mix. One that, as I said with the disclaimer, normal people will most likely flee up front, fearing a simple "text based torture porn". But in fact it is anything but that. True, the shit the MC goes through is horrendous, but is written with underlying empathy for her. This is what makes the whole thing, if not arousing or spirit lifting, worthwhile to me.
Nah, I'm pretty sure I could handle myself if someone was giving me hard time for this game (especially from the safety of this account). It would be shitty nevertheless ;)
And thanks :) The whole point of this kind of noncon content is focusing on the humanity and dignity of the person being abused. It's frankly fascinating to explore the gap between the, erm, plot and the narrative, when in the plot the MC is being humiliated and stripped of her personhood, and in the narrative she is actually the only person who counts in the story and the men are just tools. And this gap is where half of the fun lies.
And then there is of course the design question of player agency and writing the choices that matter in a situation where agency is taken away from the protagonist.
Seriously, this project was/is so intellectually engaging for me, I wish I could write an essay on it :D
Heya, just finished my playthough.
I really appreciate the disclaimer you put at the beginning, for sure this game isn't for everyone. However, I would advice to explain a bit better, because while I don't like the content (I really don't like non consensual sex), I found the narrative to be interesting, and the disclaimer alone could drive off people that could find some interest in the game.
In short, this is quite an experience. I didn't find it arousing, but nonetheless interesting. I think I'll keep an eye on it, to see where it goes =)
Oh, thank you so much! I'll think about another wording :)
