Introduction:
Hello, my name is Jay ‘Yarheeguy’ Miles, and I am a game developer and designer who is interested in joining the Spooktober Game Jam.
I am an experienced Game Developer and Narrative Designer who is currently doing a ’12 games in 1’ year objective. Doing 1 every month by doing game jams, this jam will be my 9th. I have great experience in narrative design and making visual novels in the past, including See Only Evil: Rebecca’s Origins, and a Danganronpa-Style fangame.
I have already thought of an idea for the visual novel, But I don’t want to do everything by myself.
I need your help!
I am forming a team that can aid me in my development.
Here are the job openings:
(Job openings will be updated if they are open or closed)
Edit Update: 24/08 (Day/Month)
2D Artists:
-Background Artist
-Character sprite artist
-UI artist
Sound and music:
-Sound and music designer

Closed!
Other Roles:
-Proofreader (start of the jam)
-Playtester (at the near end of the jam)
Game Idea
For those who are curious to know what my game idea is going to be, I’m happy to tell you a good summary.
It will be a Visual Novel about a guy who appears as a unsettling creepy monster working at an American gas station on Halloween. While this is a regular job for most, this guy sees it as a chance to prove that he can do more for the station’s store.
Here are some notes to give you an idea of my game:
-The Game will be set in The World of See Only Evil (best way to describe it: My Hero Academia meets 1984, where villains are oppressed and potential villains are monitored.)
-It will take place on Halloween and have horror aspects of the struggles of being accepted.
-NO ROMANCE WILL BE INVOLVED.
-The Game will be made using the Unity Engine and have more features than just reading dialogue and ‘branching.
Payment and Rewards
As this is a Game Jam, the only payment I can provide is experience to working on a project that you can put on your CV/Portfolio.
However, I am planning to pay for the Judge Pass. If any chance our game ends up winning any of the cash prize categories, I will be happy to split the reward.
For the main prize I will split my earnings to 40%, since I am the one with the idea, working on the programming and putting everything together, each role will have 20% for their efforts (and any roles that has more than one person will have a equal split of 20, if there is 3 artists, that’s 6.66% each)
If the game wins one of the sub-categories, I will split the reward 80-20 to whoever is responsible to win that category. I would consider this as a better reward for those who did their best work for the achievement.
(UPDATE: it turns out anyone responsible for winning the sub catagory will get the reward 100%, so ignore the part above and the 3 pie charts below the image, the ones who get that reward deserves it.)
(Note: Best Voice Actor will only be applied for the one Voice Actor who won the reward)
