I really like the power and light mechanics in this game. I didn't get very far - I'm not very good at avoiding monsters that can cross walls - but I think there's a lot working well here. Maybe an ongoing power issue the player has to monitor FNAF-style could add for a bit of gameplay - or needing to recharge the torch manually. The monster itself is really well designed and the portrait you've made of it is excellent - I don't think I'd hang it in my living room but  I kinda love it!

Thanks for submitting The House Outside Grimville to the SCREAM MACHINE jam!

Very creepy! I loved the art style. My one complaint is the differences in sound level. The death sound, which I encountered very quickly on my first play, was so loud I threw my headphones off. So I turned the volume way down, and then that made it hard to hear the audio queues of the approaching spirits. Which is on me, I'm just trying to say volume doesn't necessarily equal scary. But I enjoyed the game, and I appreciate the inclusion of a second level. I definitely had some tense moments where a spirit was coming at me while I was out of flashlight power!

Thanks for playing and your feedback naver! I feel audio design is something I struggle to level out sometimes, so I appreciate your feedback so I can keep it on my radar next game jam. Thanks again!
