Can I finish this jam?

So yeah...I have a habit of getting distracted pretty easy. Just typing out this message I will probably end up getting up several times having to come back, re-read and continue what I had so far, etc. etc. etc. Needless to say I always start out a jam super excited and eager to get into things but something will pop up along the way, I get distracted, and just never get back into the swing of things. This time is going to be a bit different...

As it turns out this jam takes place the exact days I will be traveling and staying in hotels. This means (sadly) no cats, no computers, no "normal" distractions to speak of. The jam starts AND ends while I will be staying in hotels. OMG I AM SO EXCITED! I am allowing myself to bring along my Samsung tablet which just happens to be able to run the mobile version of GDevelop pretty aok, as well as a few pens, a notebook, and yeah...plenty of time I'd normally be spending watching really bad TV. Now the TV can stay off and the creativity can do its thing...I hope.

Was wondering if anybody had any comments, tips, whatevers to help keep the distractions to a minimum during jam time.

I have this exact same problem so I can't say much about the getting distracted part. It probably doesn't help that I'm only a sophomore in high school and have a job to focus on as well, but it helps me to make a list of things I need to do for the game. I haven't finished any jams yet because of the same reasons as you (most of them were under a week though) and all I can say is good luck!

hehe, to go with my notebook this time I also bought 3x5 cards. My plan is once I get a rough idea of what needs done I am going to put each function I think I'll need and a basic idea/simple code with it and then, ideally, I can just go through each card one at a time and when all the cards are gone I 'should' have a game :P

And thank you! :D

That's actually not a bad idea, maybe I should try that! Hopefully I can get a game out of this as well, heh. Thank you too! :]
