I enjoyed robbing that store blind! At first, I thought the counter on the list wasnt moving, but it was. I thought it is an interesting concept for the game, I know with the right narrative with type of game would be fantastic. Good job.

Hey Smorty100!
I managed to escape and save like $20 -- haha. I really did try and figure out the 3rd (and possibly 4th ending) but for the life of me could not figure it out. Guessing one is collecting everything in the store?
A couple notes after playing for a bit:
- The monster is SUPER fast. Even when it isn't in full speed mode as we race toward the exit. The sprint recharging as fast as it does definitely helps, but once it is in range of you it's almost a guaranteed death since it knows where you are at all times and just guns it for you.
- I definitely understand the lack of jumping in the game (I am guessing it breaks pathing for the monster?) but it would have been nice to have the jump to get over some obstacles like the tables or large bins and escape the monster when it gets super close.
- If the shopping list was a bit more random and items were in more structured places, like specific aisles, it would make replayability a bit better. Nothing wrong with how it is right now, but I was able to get almost everything just walking up the main aisle and forcing the monster to go back and forth in the aisle next to me.
What I liked:
- The music overall was a ton of fun! The chase music had me stressing out (maybe it was a tad loud, but not a huge deal). The restaurant music was hilarious is the best possible way. When the monster wasn't chasing me I was jamming out just listening to that for a bit. The menu music was great too! Really serene, but also very unsettling.
- I am not sure if you were trying to be comedic, but the story/premise and really dry humor in the text prompts was great. I was chuckling and it made me kind of want to read it aloud in like a 1940s movie gangster voice (no idea why)
- Overall, a solid premise/game idea and I would love to see it expanded and polished up a bit more. A mix of unsettling, uncanny and humorous aesthetics, set inside of an abandoned grocery store could definitely make for an interesting game if the mechanics are expanded! Great job :D
Thank you very much for your feedback! I really appreciate it.
In case you still want to get that third ending, I can suggest that two of the three endings consist of you losing in different ways. One of these ways can be achieved without stealing a single thing, but still "losing the game". That (probably) should get you the third ending you were looking for.
And on your note about the monster speed:
The monsters speed scales with how many items you steal. So the more unnecessary items you get (not on the list), the faster it will get. At the very end it gets a larger speed boost, but still out-runnabe. Also, the monster can only see you if you are either withing it's sight, or you just collected an item. Then it will go to where it last saw or heard you.
The shopping list always stays the same as you said, and I thought that randomly generating the items positions would be enough, but yes, having a different list every time would have been more interesting.
Again, I thank you very much for writing such an extensive review of the game, it is really helpful :)
Ohhhhhhhh okay! I will definitely come back and try to get that third ending then!
Also, that makes perfect sense now that I think about it. I was spam collecting stuff at a certain point thinking there would be some sort of ending for collecting everything. Very cool though hearing about how the monster AI works though! Appreciate the explanation :D
Definitely looking forward to any future stuff you put out! Glad I could be some help
