fun game!
Good job considering the time limit. Yet still, I think such a game as this requires really good movements for being enjoyable for more than a couple of minutes. Which is not really possible to make in 3 days, I guess. Especially making it in first person view must be a tough job indeed. So I run and jump around some and started to feel dizzy. I am a bit light headed usually, so it can also be something about me.
I liked the level design btw, made me wish I had a grappling gun. :D Bravo!
I actually joined this jam a day after it started, so I'm quite proud of it as well :)
Maybe in its next iteration, I might add a few more traversal options
that would totally rip-off Mirror's Edgeadding extra flavor. This little one may grow into a better game. As for when... well, I'm running through a bunch of game jams, so probably some time in the future.Enjoy jumping around!
To be honest, I had fun running around and exploring the levels more than collecting the coins. I like the puzzle vibe in the level designs.
-The control is smooth but still lacks responsiveness.
-Realtime GI in Unreal is a little bit expensive, I think.
-Color on the edges and ledge really helps. I recommend to use more.
I think with some polish this game would be better. For example, add fog to let the player know how low they can go or sound when collecting the item.
I still have no idea how to get to get that thing.Hello there, and thanks for playing my game!
I basically ran out of time to properly do a polish & performance pass on this level, so yeah, I agree, I'll be adding them on a future update. I used Unreal Engine 5 here, and yeah, it is quite expensive to run.
I like open ended level design as well, something I prefer to incorporate more in my level designs. When I saw the theme was "parkour", I immediately thought of Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, and designed a miniature version of it... more or less :)
Speaking of updates, by the way, that screenshot you posted is at a spot where the game actually broke - I accidentally left it too high, and noticed it this morning... Sorry for the inconvenience, really. I'm uploading a patch for this as I write these lines, expect it in about half an hour or so (I got slow connection at the moment...) I'm not changing anything else, just fixing a bug that made the game unplayable.
Thanks for playing!
I'm having some trouble downloading/running this
Hello there;
What sort of trouble are you having? Maybe I can help?
Just realised it was me being slow and not knowing how to unpack the .rar properly, my bad. Trying to download it again now but I don't see the download link anymore?
