I liked the idea of a game. The concept was pretty cool. It was like Stardew Valley but with some light combat. I honestly couldn't really fathom how you were able to makes crops grow all from different seeds. It's rad as hell.  I feel like making the hoe act in front of the player rather than below was a weird touch, considering everything other item for farming acts below the character but that's just a nitpick.

The presentation was at times rough, but you did good considering. Wasn't the biggest fan of the music. Everything also just feels really slow and the player lacks objective.  Like for example in Stardew you're growing crops, fishing, etc. to earn money to get upgrades. In this game you only really grow things for the sake of doing so. You don't get money from it and as far as I know most items are given as gifts. There's a lot of reading in this game and it can sometimes overwhelm the player when you start describing little things the characters do. I don't suggest cutting it out completely, it's somewhat charming, just reformat it or cut down on the word count. But take that with a grain of salt because I am a poor reader. I also feel like the combat is just thrown at the player with all their moves and little understanding. I feel like if the game had smaller combat encounters with maybe pests of some kind it'd help with the build up of the final fight of this prologue. There just isn't a lot to do.

Despite those things the game had some fun things to do. My favorite part was possibly the fishing mini game, which works surprisingly well considering it's RPGmaker.  I liked that the map wasn't overwhelmingly big, and I enjoyed the concept of a robot growing food for humans. Overall, neat game just needs some work.

Thank you for your review! I appreciate the feedback, and it's really important to me. I might someday put more work into this, but at the same time, it is a demo/proof of concept for a larger game, so every bit of feedback I can gather is amazing. I'll keep all your comments in mind! Given the short amount of time, I wasn't able to come up with many characters, and I couldn't find a way to fit a real reward for growing things in plot wise this go around.

I'll definitely keep in mind the wordiness aspect. I'm kind of going for a farming sim/visual novel hybrid, so it kind of ends up being wordy as a result. I'll keep your comment in mind, though, and maybe cut back a little on the prose at least!

Once again, thank you so much for playing!

I didn't get far. I couldn't figure out how to do anything. How do I plant crops?

I thought it was in the tutorial popups, so sorry about that if it isn't! Immediately after the intro cutscene ends, you talk to the character to your south to trigger another tutorial, where you are able to put your tools in your inventory. Seeds are under regular items, tools under key items. You use the hoe to till the ground, then you can plant a seed in the tilled soil. Like I said, all that should have been in the tutorial boxes, so if it didn't pop up, that's a problem that I wasn't aware of.  I'll look more closely at the browser version now, presuming that's the version you played.

Thank you for the feedback!

I did equit the hoe and the seeds 9n the bar like you said, but then I can press 1 or 2 and the action button as much as I like, nothing happens.

You have to be over the bare area of dirt, and there's a border edge unfortunately. You may have been on that border edge. I'll keep this all in mind for after the jam fixes, since uploads are disabled during jam. Everything works fine on mine and my tester's end in both downloaded and online versions.
