Love the concept and the artwork is great. Particularly like the grey / pink colour scheme too - makes a really good looking faction.

obviously !! I would love to find some mental health / Sanity scale. Like in CoC …. You know, A way to impact enemies who are exposed to the horror, with différent level of madness … sort of relationship chart of the VB …
« when enemie Warrior is sacrifice , Roll a Die and this enemie lose this amount of mental health » … and this could affect the next battle between you and this « shocked » enemie. (Sorry for the bad wording, i m french ^^)
Well dang these guys seems mega fun, the herald itself is a striking idea and is incorporated well into the core mechanics of the faction. There's also a ton of flavour in the token / building design, not to mention the actual names and wording that you've used. 😆
Their gameplay and presence in any given game also most likely isn't going to fall into the trap of making things "feel" like a totally different game. By this I mean that although a game is gonna feel totally different with these folks in the mix, it for sure is gonna feel unabashedly like ROOT.
Fantastic work! Glad to see you still supporting em!
Hiya! this one is really amazing. From concept to theme, the use of cards/abilities based on power, everything. I'd very much like to translate them to polish after some more tests and tweaks from your side. Do you have a dedicated topic/channel on discord for easier comunication? I couldn't find it and I wanted to ask for meeple concept - I'd love to print them ;)
Thank you very much! Yes, I definitely recommend waiting for the post-jam adjustments before doing a final translation and printing, I was also thinking of translating it into Spanish since my gaming group prefers that language. As for a Discord channel, I'd definitely like to use one to upload updated versions and especially to see if other players can help with balancing and testing, but I have no idea how to create one XD I guess I should ask an admin in the Weird-Root Discord. And speaking of meeples, yesterday I was making some on Thinkercard, check out how they're coming along (do you recognize the hat?)
They look great, I can test-print them in a few hours, just let me know the desired colors as I prefer to print multi-color instead of just painting :) as for discord, I can send you invite link to both official and weird root discords. Both are great places to share own creations.
*edit* - welp, turns out that itch.io doesn't allow sending DMs (or I cannot find it). Hit me up on discord (username: blichew)
oh and also one more question: when removing warriors from the blessing of the deep when altar is destroyed. do those tracks function like any other token/building track? or it's the other way around: from left to right?
for example, community track: I don't place my own warrior at the beginning of birdsong only if there are already 3 warriors there? or 1st one goesn on the slot on the left?
If one of the symbol spaces is free, you place the piece directly on top of the space with the symbol, so I guess it doesn't work like a normal path, I thought of it as a kind of insurance to be able to take action in case all the pieces are removed from there, it's also the way you take action on the first turn.
I love the design of this faction, top-tier stuff. Very much like the variety of gameplay from the different Heralds, and the fact that you have influence over which Herald, but cannot choose specifically which, thus causing Meta shakeups. Also, the allocation in the Blessings of the Deep allows for a lot of customisation, very fun!
Also, just look at those cute lil' faces! ♥
Very well thought out and executed. While I at first thought it would be strong, the territorial NEED to be in water clearings can force you into bad situations and acts as an indirect but extremely potent nerf. Very beautiful. I could see this added as a new official faction tomorrow, and I wish it was to be honest. Clear counterplay, not oppressive, and seems to be very fun and with a great theme. I love the idea of abducting an enemy warrior to go and sacrifice him at an altar, dragging them to a river to their doom. 10/10
