this game is really cool! fun, really challenging but also very easy to understand and it looks really good too. though the jump doesn't feel quite right, but after a while you get more used to it. well done!

one thing I want to add is why I've been putting off playing this game for a couple of days. First, I had to download it. And it wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for a little pop-up window telling me that I should install something, and it showed up every time I tried opening the game. Eventually I installed what it asked me to (it was C++ Visuals or something idk) and only then I could play. I guess this is why your game (unfortunately) doesn't have that many ratings, people just don't have the software required for your game. Hope that helps you and good luck!

Thanks for playing! I developed the game Unreal Engine 5, and I believe that download it just part of getting an Unreal game to work. Perhaps I could have packaged the project in a way to prevent that though? 🤔 Anyways, I appriciate the feedback!

The melting animation after shooting a demon is awesome - it caught me totally by surprise. Even after I knew it was coming, it wowed me almost every time.

The gravity implementation feels a little wonky. The button-hold to jump higher works great, but falling down from a jump is way too fast. It doesn't impact my ability to play the game, but it did feel a little strange. The shooting is so rhythmic, it feels like I should be able to time my jumps perfectly to hit midair targets, but it doesn't seem like a plausible strategy for a mediocre platform player like myself.

The game does feel very challenging, in a good way!

The startup sound at the beginning of the stage adds good tension, especially when you can't move yet, but there is a visible demon right behind you.

I'm not sure if the "penalized" sound bite fits the psychedelic aesthetic, but it made me smile every time.
