Amazing, I am absorbed into the atmosphere of the generator like seeing living thing building their settlement. The amount of work you put into your generator is also astonishing. I love the idea of building the house step by step, it makes the city more alive.

This has a great style and music. I think it would make a fun city builder even if kept minimal.
Great job!
I like how you can see the whole city building itself and rising in front of you, and of course the end result is stunning :-o
1400+ sprites is a lot (even when accounting for 1-bit depth and multiple frames per building block), but the variety it offers really shows, the buildings still look organic and quite different from each others. How long did it took you to draw all of them?
Thx, I love generators but I always find them boring, so I said to myself why not to make a city generator where everything is generate in realtime rather than in 1 second, cause it's too "easy" to do so :)
Well, I don't know exactly how long it took me to draw everything. But the project itself represent a week of non-stop hard work. The pedestrians represents an hundred of frames, all based on the same walk animation. And the blocks has been reverse animated from the end to the begining of there animation, by erasing parts . So it was'nt that hard to draw everything.
I'm currently planning to maybe rework some part of the code to have less 1 block width towers, and maybe more unpredictives layouts. Cause right now each slums is very similar to the others, thats would be great to have more variety, more crazyness in the building.
Thx,but I have to confess :) Everything as been drawn in black, it was the simplest and quickest way to drawn 1400 sprites, and the color gradient are generated by post processing, so I had the idea to make biomes with there own unique colors :
pink/purple : vaporwave city
red/orange : volcano/desert
green : jungle/forest/mushroom
blue : coast
