I agree with the other comments, great idea and style, but some sound would be good and most importantly the controller needs some love.
The art and style is awesome! I think @Treefire33 nailed it with the movement suggestions. It feels a bit sluggish, and it made it a little frustrating for me. Awesome concept and theme interpretation, that really works well!
The theme and concept were used well, and the art is good! However, the movement controls poorly, I'd suggest trying to make it less floaty and allowing the player to move diagonally. Overall a great game!
I like the concept, I kind of wish I could move diagonally, especially when the enemies seem to be able too. I kept getting flanked.
