Quite a lot of different things here, you would have done a great job capturing the winter feel even without the snow so that is pretty good too! A little inconsistent elements with the blankets being top down and the table isometric while everything else was from a front facing angle, but that's a pretty small detail and most of the pack would work together well.
thanks! honestly my main idea for the blanket was kinda to just burrito in it facing the camera but it looked kinda weird, and i didnt think much about the table, i kinda just put it there. the theme gave me a lot of trouble, i didnt have a lot of ideas so i barely made anything and submitted pretty early - i was the first submission.
I definitely understand having trouble with the theme, it took me quite awhile to think of anything past Snowman haha. That makes sense with the blanket, it would look a little odd/be hard to figure out what it was from a front facing perspective.
This pixelart pack is the first one I saw for the jam and inspired me a lot, even though i didn't have time, I didn't even think of christmas while thinking of winter and now I want to do so many christmas related things ! Really cool tileset ! I did have a bit of trouble distinguishing some of the sprites like the sled and fireplace on the spritesheet because they do no contrast a lot with the background, but individual sprites do clear all of that. I like the colors you used, really warm, it's super cool !
thank you so much! that means a lot to me!!! i dont live in a snowy country, so my associations with the word winter is mostly stuff i see thats christmas related. i didnt wanna draw my non-snowy winter stuff because most people would probably consider it more autumn, if not summer, and i wouldnt have had many ideas for it anyway.
mmm the christmassy feel. kinda reminds me of a commodore 64 game where you were like santas helper and had to get into a house on xmas and put together santas sleigh and presents to complete the run? wtf was that called i dont remember
i have no idea what youre talking about but im glad you like it :)
