What Game Segment is this Theme For?
Description
I wanted to take a direction at the end loosely inspired by the C418 take on the end, and spin it in my own direction. Messing around with one main melodic idea and seeing what i can do with it, what emotions I could bring out within myself, and I ended up wanting to explore this idea of uncertainty and ESPECIALLY unravelment, what happens when an idea just falls apart to unsettle the listener.
The most exciting part of making this song in my opinion was recording and adding the effects onto the whispering I added here, which is (mostly reversed) poetry that I smashed together in 20 minutes and fragments of the original End Poem, which i recently learned is open source. Cool!
Ultimately, I am really happy about how this all turned out, really interested to hear what you all have to say about it.

This is awesome and beautiful! I totally enjoyed the journey through your music.
The combination of colors generated very rich sounds. I really don't know how you make such contrasting elements work well together haha and also tell a story. It sounds incredible!! Something that I really liked is how the melodic elements interact with the other textures (4:00, 8:10).
Great Pixcele!
Hey pixcele,
thank you for setting up this Jam. It was really nice to hear all the other submissions and get some feedback on my track as well.
Overall I really liked your track. I have one comment on production and one loosely related memory that came up when I heard your track:
I find the difference in space the background drone and the piano in the very beginning occupy a little bit irritating. The drone feels very spacious and the piano feels very brittle and claustrophobic. I guess there are cases where such illogical acoustic spaces can work but here I think I would have preferred it if both parts would have felt a little bit more „in the same space“.
Your (reversed) poetry reminded me of a track I did with a friend a long time ago. We reversed some spoken sentences, memorized how they sounded and recorded us saying them „in reverse“. We once more reversed that and got some really striking otherworldly but understandable spoken passages. It’s a really fun trick we stole from the TV series Twin Peaks. If you never tried that before I recommend giving it a shot if you need some really unsettling voice lines some day.
Such a rich and beautiful soundscape! I especially enjoyed the processed metal percussion and the phasing, panning wind. Most importantly, you've struck a fine balance between storytelling and ambience - good textural variation and incredibly focused. Great work!
Really great take, very creative yet coherent. As peoples already said, a small issue on the high end especially, some frequencies are too louds : I take the guess it's from the heavy distortion on the piano and from the flangers on the pad, there is some room for improvement here. But nothing that take away from the overall really great piece you made !
I like your approach to the end theme! I will say though that the attack on the low end is a bit too sharp and some of the higher end sounds stand out a bit too much. Otherwise, good job!
Really great and entrancing soundscapes here. The way instruments intertwine with the beautiful ambiance is amazing. The track reminded me of “In the Mirror” from Celeste with its reversed whispering, and especially makes sense considering both tracks try to capture the vibe of unravelment. It also fits amongst the noises made by endermen I thoroughly enjoyed the ten minutes I spent with this track!
I did notice room for improvement, though! I found that some frequencies, likely from the pads, must’ve resonated with my headphones, since I found them a bit painful occasionally. This notably occurred around 3:30. I also noticed that some sections of the track stood out due to their volume, which for background music, might be distracting.
However, this is nothing that can’t be fixed! Compositionally, the track is remarkable, and I would love to hear this in the game.
