- Dude has the sound effects that vibe as hard as McGun's stare. Straight away from the intro, I know McGun is a certified badass weapon. Boom Dropped the mic, entered the comic book intro, and everything is confirmed: I am McGun, the Badass Gun, and I'm breaking out of jail. What an intro! Then the music changes up, and the mood shifts to gameplay. The aiming mini-game was really fun; the combination of WSAD and the mouse gave me the feel I needed to practice this game and compliment its precision. A good balance was struck between challenging and satisfying! Background and assets all added such a cool feel to match the vibe of the intro as I used the space bar to manoeuvre my way around the obstacles. Also, I took note of all the small details, such as having only one bullet and the feeling that gives. Also, the moving empty bullet slots gave me an urgency to find more ammo. This game took me right back to something I can't put my finger on because honestly I think this felt very unique yet nostalgic at the same time. Thank you for this submission. Great game! I liked being able to turn upright, right R, if I fell, fitting for a hero of the story to be able to pick himself up, I thought. I did have some difficulty in jumping in the very first stage. Text on the wall helped with immersion also and with learning the game without reading GDD. I found the first stage a little too challenging when it came to the parkour (this could be the controls feeling a little stiff sometimes), but it does state this is a challenging game in the GDD. I would like to see different difficulty levels also.

Summarise your game!
Steel McGun is a challenging action game where you play as a sentient weapon seeking revenge. The gameplay features erratic aiming, mid-air jumps that consume bullets, and destructible boxes to clear the path. You must carefully manage your ammo to survive. The story unfolds through comic-style cinematics, with simple controls focused on precision and timing. The cartoonish art style and Newgrounds-inspired design bring a fun and quirky vibe to the intense gameplay.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
You are literally a weapon that was used in a bad way and seeks revenge.
Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?

The controls felt a bit stiff and sluggish at times.
But all in all, it was a very fun game. Nice job!
The platforming feels a little jittery at times but is mostly great and the artwork and narrative are fantastic! I love the comic strips especially, really awesome work.
Very fun experience. I liked the artstyle.
Art was the most difficult thing, I'm glad you enjoyed it :D
Fantastic experience, the music in the second level is a little hard on the ears for an extended period of time. The last boss was pretty hard, but was a cool gun.
You're right, I didn't realize it could be a little annoying, I hope you enjoyed the game :D
The opening part shooting the lock transitioning to the platforming was a nice touch! The art is really nice! I think I softlocked myself by jumping on the right side of the cart. You need to teach the player how to play first with a simple level then get more complicated! Really good job tho! Keep making games!
I made that kind of transitions so that you are not all the time platforms and thank you for your advice :D
This game was amazing, I love the mechanics and how you have to think each level to surpass it. I can say, confidently, that is a very interesting game with a very interesting proposal.
Endermin, I hope you have a lot of fun in the game!
The intro sequence was awesome, loved to see it. Some platforms were a bit hard to distinguish between solid and pass through ones, but otherwise a fun platformer!
Thank you for the review :D, the platforms could have done better but it's still fun!
Lovely game, a bit hard to decide at times what's collide-able or not with objects, but otherwise jolly good little game!
If you're right, that can complicate the game a little, but it's enjoyable :)
Amazing game, very fun and super polished. Loved the narrative <3
The story is the most fun of the game :D
Really fun game and super polished! Feels ready to release. Enjoyed playing! Mechanics were challenging to get down but once I understood what was going on it got much better.
It may be a little difficult at the beginning but when you understand them it's more fun :D
Nice game! I enjoyed boss fight alongside with the story. Got a little lost here and there, but always found where do I need to go next. Regarding level design, I think there could be a little less back-tracking in some parts of "Finding a bad guy" level. Keep it up!
Thanks for your review, I hope you had a lot of fun with the game :)
Made me laugh very hard at the art
The most important thing is that you had fun!
Absolute Cinema 🖐️😐🤚
The most important thing is cinema
Not sure its just my brain, but I totally read R for "reload" so I just hit R when I ran out of bullets, played to many FPS I guess.
i almost did this aswell lol
I enjoyed this a lot! I really loved the style and the cutscenes!
I also think you did well with the added variety in some of the levels and the boss.
Thank you for your comment, it was hard that it didn't become monotonous!
Enjoyed the game! I found the story interesting and liked the boss fight. Although I don't really get the platforming controls and pretty much kept pressing the W key 😅 One issue I had is that in one part (pic related) I spend a lot of time not realizing that some bricks were platforms and not just background because they didn't really stand out
Thank you for enjoying it :D
Good game! The art is really good, the always falling over mechanic was pretty infuriating, but I get why you had to have it like that, it just made the brick platforming level a little difficult. The game overall was pretty smooth and fun to play. I was a bit confused on the last level, there was no indication of health or anything so I wasn't even sure I was doing it right until I won. Also on the last level the get up mechanic seemed to be bugged because I if I fell over I wasn't able to get back up at all, just had to shoot around.
Overall great game good job!
Thanks for the review, I'll fix it, thank you very much :D
Awesome game! Challenging gameplay with some appealing designs makes it a very enjoyable experience.
I hope you found it fun :D
GDD is solid!
Prototype visuals are nice!
I got myself stuck in the first level , but otherwise a fluid gameplay experience.
If you get stuck somewhere you can press R to restart :)
This game is excellent! Along with being quirky and fast-paced, it offers challenging mechanics and a fun atmosphere that captures the charm of old flash games.
Thanks for the comment, odincito :D
