  • To start, the games art direction is great, love the vibes and love the music. I could not really figure out how to make the mechanics work in a reasonable time frame and got stuck on the second puzzle, so being more direct in your tutorials might be a good idea. Also the theme of alchemy seemed to be missing during my portion of the playthrough, but It looked like you guys were doing something with light so that was cool, just hard to fully judge because I couldn't really see all of it in a reasonable time

Lumin is a 2D platformer puzzle game about a robot named Lumin. Throughout all its life Lumin has lived in the shadows of the corporation it has been working for. However, in this game Lumin has finally gotten out of the shackles of its old life and is now taking a step forwards into the light.

In the game Lumin can configure lights to cast different effects on the elements inside of it. By combining different colored effect lights to create new colors, new unique effects can also be achieved. By using these different effects the player who controls Lumin will work themselves through a set of 11 puzzles of increasing difficulty. By interacting with buttons, lasers, doors and of course lights, the player has to figure out how to open the ending door and pass through it.

The controls are quite simple and similar to a lot of other 2D platformers. The A & D keys are used for moving left and right and space is for jumping. To configure lights you can select which effect Lumin will cast with the number keys 1-3. To set a lights effect you then hover it with your mouse and right click. Some lamps can also be rotated by hovering it, pressing and holding the white circle, then moving your mouse.

Enjoy our little game!

cute artstyle and a pretty interesting mechanic!

for the different light types Im wondering if it might make sense to have every type always be the same key? that way you don't have to relearn the hotkeys each room

Really cool game ! Same issue as the previous comment, not knowing the mechanics at all I did not understand the first room for a few minutes. (not being in fullscreen on itch hides the part of the room where the door is) Every after was fun puzzling all around. Great job :)

very cool game!! I really like the artstyle and music, and the puzzles were super creative. I did have a bit of trouble starting out: on the second screen, there's no indication of what pressing the button does, so it took me a while to figure out that it opened the exit on the right side and that that was where you were supposed to go. similarly, I didn't notice on the third screen when the icon at the bottom lit up, so I didn't know if me pressing 1 was doing anything (I was trying to press 1 and right click at the same time, press 1 then right click the icon, etc).

this all could've been solved if I had read the description before playing, but I wanted to just jump right in, so I guess it's understandable. once I figured out the mechanics I had a blast!
