  • Visually stunning and unique, loved the hand drawn style. It's probably needing a couple additions such as checkpoints and/or a way to get your bearings, as I often got lost, but the game was really fun and promising!

Did you include your Game Design Document in your downloadable files?
Yes

Tell us about your game!
A void that consumes all things is wiping everything out of existence. Only a plucky hand-drawn robot and its platforming prowess can collect the sacred artifacts needed to lock it away!

Did you remember to include your Game Design Document?

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yes

Extra Notes
The 4 of us met on the discord game-jam-lfg and had a blast... Everything in this game was produced for the jam, with the exception of the Courier Prime font (released under OFL https://openfontlicense.org/)

The art is really good and i  like the abstract direction you went with everything. I died on the first level an embarrassingly number of times.

Thank you so much for playing! I'm curious if it was the tutorial level or the other one where you died a lot. Also don't worry I made the physics for this game and die in the tutorial more than I would like to admit. :)

haha it was the tutorial. I have a hard time timing the dash between the above/below spike section. I went back to it today and was able to complete it, im still impressed with the graphics :D.

Developer

That may be my bad, we have something called a gravity dash that pushes you in a straight line in the air ignoring gravity. If you're standing still, jump, then press dash very soon after, you execute a gravity dash which pushes you in a straight line over those difficult tiles.

Stay tuned for the procedural level maker where you can create your own types of levels!

Love the art! I'm a big fan of dichotomous styles like hand-drawn/digital, 2d/3D, etc. This nails it!

The level design is solid and the movement overall has a nice feel. The floating feel makes the game seems a little slow...not sure if that's a bad thing or not, I personally like a little speed in platforming, but this might be what you're going for and it would be fine if so.

Awesome work!

thanks so much for playing ❤️ We are considering making it a full release of a smol game haha 😂 and in that case spend some more time polishing it for sure. First time I ever created game art in my life. Wow it was so rewarding and magical to see it come alive in that way. Now I have to tell all my artist friends to participate in a game jam 😁🌈

Loved the whole creative vision behind this game! The art style is so good, as was the music and the sound effects. I would definitely say add checkpoint to the levels, I felt like I got lost a LOT and dying felt real bad when I was far from the portal.

I also had some issues with wall jumping, it just felt clunky for some reason, maybe I'm just bad, but it didn't work a lot when I thought it should.

Y'all did great, very fun game! (if frustrating at times with the difficulty)

thanks so much for testing it and enjoying the art! We were discussing checkpoints but didn't want to submit last minute and maybe not make it. I think we all agreed that there should be some check point mechanic.

Very cool! I love the art in this! Very abstract! haha. It is a really cool platformer! My only wish would be to load the it up with checkpoints. Maybe marking the last place the player touched 'ground' before collecting an orb?

It has a really cool atmosphere about it that makes me want to explore the world it exists in! I would love to see it populated with various other 4th dimensional creatures and abstract scenery elements. I would just recommend some tighter controls or possibly a smaller hit box to give players some more leeway since it feels more like a casual exploration game than a high-stakes skill ceiling platformer.

Other than that its a really neat game! I really enjoyed the aesthetic and the levels were cool! Great work!!! :D

We're really happy you liked it! More checkpoints is a great idea! We do plan on going in and touching up the hit boxes and tightening up the controls a bit as well. Super happy you enjoyed it!
