Pretty nice game you made in such a small amount of time! I like how you interpreted the idea of diseases into the boss fight. The performance of the web version of the game is really poor; however, I downloaded the Windows version, and it worked like a charm! Seeing a cutscene after defeating a boss was really cool, rather than just some text saying "you win". The player's bullet speed is really slow, but the boss bullets were so fast that I felt like Neo from The Matrix when dodging them XD
Really nice shooter and an interesting take on the theme. Like others have said it doesn't run very well, but I understand you only had a few days so couldn't optimize it.
It would be nice to have some visual/ audio indication of enemies shooting though, i got shot in the back a few times without even realising it.
Apart from that, a pretty fun (and difficult) shooter, good job.
Good game! You managed to make a difficult shooter, which is impressive. Here's some things I noticed:
- When I first spawned in, I was a little disoriented and jumped backwards off the map, so I had to manually restart
- The slowness of the bullets increases the difficulty of the game alot, making you adjust and set it apart from other shooter games.
- My frames started to suffer heavily about two thirds of the way into the fight.
- There are some quality of life things that could be added to indicate to the player what is happening. Is the white outline a shield? Make a sfx for the shield breaking and regenerating to signal that. Is the enemy shooting? Make some sfx for the enemy shots (I did not even realize the enemy was able to shoot until my third time fighting them). New minion spawns in? Sfx or icon. Does your player get hurt or hit the enemy? Give some more feedback through visuals and sound. All of these would greatly improve the game.
All in all, good job! It took me three tries to save Patient 71 (is there a reason they are patient 71 and not 73?)
Thanks for the feedback. I already started making an updated version to post after the jam and your feedback will be included. Again, thank you so much for playing my game.
somewhat decent
I am soo sorry to hear about your issues running my game. You kind of need a good gpu for unity urp to run smoothly. I used a lot of shader graphs which are well known to slow games down on older/lower end computers. I also used a ML algorithm for the enemy that I have trained to dodge bullets, attack, and move which can be very heavy on the CPU and GPU. I will try to send you a link to the game with shader graphs disabled if I can during the comp. If you have any more feedback please comment. Thank You.
Also I only had a week and a few days to make it so it isn't polished that well. I found this jam a few weeks after the Boss Rush Jam and the Brackey's Jam ended.
same lmao, i joined it pretty earlier and only put most of the work on the last 4 days or smth
