Palindrome OST Jam's itch.io pageMessage from the artist
I imagine a game where the character is going through various levels, all of which contain doors that seemingly lead back to the same place. First-person game with a cartoon animation style. Tried to recreate this with repetitive / "palindromical" music. Spent 3-4 hours in total, first sketching in Dorico and then working in Cubase.

The mixture of acoustic and retro sounds creates a really nice blend. I like the energy of the second track a lot, but in both of them the ending seemed a little abrupt which ruined the flow for me. But overall nice work!
Thanks a lot! I'll take it this with me :)
I'm really sorry but the panning makes this incredibly difficult to listen to, and both tracks have seemingly nothing to do with each other or the theme.
The panning was not intentional, there's something strange with my file because I had not added any panning at all.. Hoping to find out what went wrong.
Yeah I agree the tracks could be more tightly knit together, writing in a short period is very new to me so it was enough just to focus on this without considering everything as well haha.
As for the theme the "title screen" track is actually nearly identical played backwards, the other one however has just a small element of mirroring in the bass part of the beginning.
Thanks for your feedback!
At first I didn't mind the panning to the left ear in the first track but the second track is rough on only 1 ear.
I also think that the 2 tracks don't really flow with one another they feel too different with 1 being orchestral and another being more chiptune.
Now to the positives, I like the chiptune one quite a bit with the flute and drums and I think the second track with the chiptune instead of piano would be great.
There were also some nice strings of notes in the second track that gave it a nice dreary feel at points!
Thank you! Yeah I agree they could be more coherent, this was mostly just a spontaneous excersice to write something in a limited time period, which was really fun! Next time I'll try do to better on this point as well :)
The panning was not at all my intention, I honestly don't know why it ended up like this, because there is no panning in the cubase project.. Oh well, I'll sort it out for next time.
I like it a lot! Very sweet melodies, pleasantly sparse but effective composition! It somehow seems to be panned almost completely to one ear, can you fix that?
Appreciate it! The panning was not on purpose, seems something has gone wrong within cubase because there is no panning and yet it sounds like this..Will make sure to double check that for next time!
wild stuff like that happened all the time with these daws 😅
i like the level 1 track's composition! it just seems like sound is only coming from the left channel
Thanks! This was not my intention! I noticed only today that my computer had set the audio signal to always be mono, so now I can finally hear the panning..Strangely enough there is no panning in the cubase project yet it's like this...will avoid this next time haha. Appreciate the feedback :)
