Nice tune, I like the occasional unpredictable modulations in there! Good chords. :-)
I really like the use of sound effects at the beginning and end. A fireside music box is such a serene scene. Great job!
Oddly peaceful given what I've heard about Dark Souls xD
Nevertheless, nicely done.
Very good setup of the atmosphere! This was really emotional even though it was done with just a simple music box, it reminded me that I can't parry the depression dark souls gave me.
LOL Thanks man!
"A beautiful and melancholic goodbye" well said. In my opinion a really soothing piece, the SFX used give it a sense of homelike warmness and the music box blends in perfectly with the mood that you described. Good job!
I love dark souls so it's nice to see a related submission. I feel like the mix could be a bit better but the composition is beautiful, great job!
Thanks! What do you think I could do different on the mix ?
The main issue with the mix I noticed was with the music box. I would recommend a low cut eq on the low end to about 200hz or so to get rid of unnecessary low frequencies, and some surgical cuts in between 1000hz and 2000hz to get rid of resonant frequencies created by the music box (make sure they are small because if they are large cuts they will get rid of the tone of the music box). Though looking back I think it's more of an issue with the youtube version, when I looked at the file you included I don't think it was as bad. Here's screenshot of the changes I made since that's probably more easy to understand than words. Hope this helps!
