Description
This is an orchestral/electronic composition! For the vision of the hypothetical game that this OST would be made for, I envisioned a game where you would be a "Worldwalker", someone who would walk between the fabrics of reality and shape them how you see fit, somewhat of a cross between what Aslan does in "The Magician's Nephew" and what Atrus does in the "Myst" games. Possibly you would be walking around in an isometric or fully 3D environment, but the idea would be that you would start in this kind of basic void hub world, and then you would walk up to different unmolded worlds in the form of floating bubbles and choose one to sculpt. The power used to mold the worlds would come from an understanding of their basic energies, which would be represented by an experience level increased by interacting with the world, understanding its mechanics and its inhabitants. The protagonist should be as ambiguous as possible, sort of a "VIvi-esque" presence, with the vast majority of the body hidden beneath a large, billowing hooded cape.
Each of these tracks is intended to be loopable. There is one leitmotif, which is intended to belong to the protagonist, but can certainly be interpreted differently.
Track 1, "World of Worlds", is meant to be one of those title screens where you get a sweeping pan over a background, in this case, the majestic, cathedral-like corridors of the hub world . You get kind of a taste of the awe-inspiring, reality-bending power that the protagonist has, but you get the sense that the protagonist is using this power in creative ways rather than for any real desire for power or control.
Track 2, "Torpid Plains", showcases the first world that our protagonist chooses to shape. It is a dry, lifeless plain, perhaps once full of grass and fauna, but through some unfortunate events has become barren. Our protagonist walks around this place, interacting with what little life remains here. Maybe there are beings the protagonist can communicate with, but more likely it is clear that without intervention, this world will wither and fade away like so many others.
Track 3, "The First Change", follows the aforementioned first change that the protagonist makes to the chosen world. Life begins to stir in the air, and grass begins to bloom at their feet. As the protagonist moves around the world, the wind follows at their back, and the green of the grass begins to spread at each footfall, until at least the whole plain is covered in long, flowing grass buffeted by the wind.
Each of these tracks was composed in Logic Pro X, using a variety of instruments from the Nexus, Spitfire, and basic plugins.
If you've made it to the end of my blathering, thank you so much! I hope you enjoy the tracks!
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
The game is about making new worlds from old, making every level "inside my world", and also uses the bubble imagery from the art!

So... I love some magical coolness in The First Change. Heh)
The pan flute you used in The First Change was so good! What did you use?
Thank you so much! I use a plugin called NEXUS 3!
Very clever compositions that make acoustic and electronic sing and dance together. Super bonus for making three perfect song loops! Bravo
This is straight up my alley! I love music with electronic elements and orchestra elements, which is why I include most in a lot of my soundtracks as well. My favorite part had to have been the “call and response” part in “Torpid Plains”. As a musician myself, it really excites me to hear stuff like that along with reusing motifs in different ways. Great job!
criminally underrated ngl, i really enjoyed listening to this
oh first track got me some japanese vibe like chrono trigger ost or Joe hisaishi!
The mix between synth and acoustic is succes :) Loved the motiv use in 2nd track, minimalist and effective.
Last track got me a really cool jrpg aswell^^
Great OST !
I'm still amazed at the level of quality that these submissions are able to accomplish with synths. Aside from that, your mixture of electronic and orchestral instruments is spot on! My favorite track has to be "Torpid Plains" because of its melodic piano mixed with ambient pads.
I'm instantly reminded of Chrono Trigger and other Square classics when listening to this. Your melodies were strong and I thought your instrument choices were spot on! I really enjoyed your "Torpid Plains" track and I thought the main lead synth in the track "The First Change" was very impactful. Great job!
Cool combination of classical orchestra instruments and electronic! Love it. So cozy, warm, chill and pleasant)
Very epic, definitely hits those same notes as really great classic Square themes.
My favourite of the submissions I've listened to so far. The description of the game and its mechanics/story is adapted to the theme in a clever and original way. The songs and their descriptions really match (I can picture it all in my mind without any effort). I had strong FF, Chrono Trigger or Golden Sun vibes while listening .
I would only say (and it's super subjective) that each instrument by themselves could use a little more work to make them more interesting/unique/specific .. a bit more human, alive and less Midi, basically. But that's really looking for something to say, I had a great time listening to it all, congratulations, and I'm excited to see what else you'll come up with in the future !
Really enjoyed listening to this! Especially love "The First Change" and the combo of pan flute and piano.
