Description
Main theme for a Fantasy exploration game.
All made in Pro Tools.
My composition represents the beginning of travels and the fear of the unknown beyond.
Message from the artist:
Try as you might, you cant outrun yourself.
Theme:
Runaway
Picture theme
How does it fit the theme?
spooky theme that is focused on moving forward into the unknown, like a runaway would.

Love the variation with textures being introduced and removed continuously. Nice composition!
I really like the way you gradually introduce and layer various instruments during the beginning of the song. I especially like how the bells eventually replace/layer over the piano melody. I also really like how the drum beat is introduced part way through the track. It adds a nice bit of variation and interest over the repeating melody.
Nicely done!
very immersive soundscape. a true joy to listen to. Thanks!
Loved the piano(s) you used! It created a wonderful base to build the rest of the track onto. Very creepy vibes. I agree with some of the previous comments, adding some variety to break up excessive repetitiveness would be great, but still well done overall.
Spooky! Getting a bit of a haunted feel from this. Not necessarily a scary type of haunted, but more like a "a story is about to be told"-type of haunted feeling. Like when you enter a haunted mansion ride or are introduced to a creepy fairy tale. It's nice though. It conveys this feeling quite effectively. I also like how you pitch the strings when you release them. I think it adds some magical mystery to the sound.
One thing I did notice is that the initial melody seems to go on a little bit long while staying very prominent in the forefront. I would've liked it if maybe it started floating a bit around us or did something to heighten interest if you decide to keep it going for so long. Either that or move into the second section a little bit sooner. That said, it might actually be fine for a game. I always find this difficult to say without seeing how it feels in the actual game.
Overall, I think it's great!
My take on this is that the repetitiveness adds up to the feeling of the uncertainty that awaits and slowly builds up to some discovery that changes things but not dramatically, I mean you could have a bombastic display of colours and textures but by leaving it as simple as possible shows how in real life most of the things are repetitive until they aren't but then everything returns to some new normality. I really liked your message of "you cant outrun yourself" for an exploration game, it could mean that maybe the environment is not the problem because it the problem was within you all along.. very psychological. Good job overall!
I'm not sure i'm spooked but I feel a nice fantasy/mysterious/enigmatic track there. I would agree with David, 2/3 of the track is the same repetitive theme all along, the last third of the songs you changed a bit of a texture and i was really happy to hear it finally. The good thing (or bad) is its stuck in my head because you played the theme for so long repetitively. Otherwise quality is good, composition in general is fine just need a bit more arrangement.
This is a pretty spooky track, great job! The instruments chosen do a great job of establishing that creepy feel.
My only recommendation is to add more variety: the b-section of this piece does a good job of shaking things up a bit, but that kind of change would have made the beginning even more interesting. Otherwise, that same melody over and over can feel a bit repetitive. Keep up the good work though, it was a very cool track!
