Description
The soundtrack is synth-based, because I felt that would fit the setting of space and the abstract topic of life in all its unfathomable variability best.
I imagined a game that is somewhere in between a 4x and a sim game where the player has to guide a seed or strain of life through a young universe to find a suitable world to evolve.
Hitching rides on comets and asteroids, being close enough to be showered with rare minerals but safe enough to avoid irradiation from exploding stars, colonizing primordial soups and oceans to enter the gene pool on as many worlds as possible.
The two pieces here are from two different segments of the game. One (supernova) I imagined more of a race against the clock with a supermassive star burning ever brighter and brighter in the background, the other (bloom) has a more timeless and floating feel to it. Both pieces have three parts of increasing tension.
All music was produced using Reaper 6.34 using mainly Kontakt libraries and a few effects. Rather than go for a single melody or motif, I tried to focus on a sound that a section should have and how the sound should expand and grow with the increasing tension of the game.
Theme
How does it fit the theme?
Panspermia suggests that life has a great motility, and might go from anywhere to anywhere. Its shape, its strengths and weaknesses can change and adapt to where it goes, and so, I think, does the music. I think the sounds I have chosen reflect the parts of the game and the parts of the universe that section of the game is in.

Really liked the use bass on Bloom, just quietly lurking under the piano gives a pretty cool vibe.
