The only reason I wouldn't play this is because it reminds me of Voices of the Void, and that game scared the bejeezus out of me... but it's a very, very positive comparison. This looks so satisfying to play, and it looks very realized. If it actually does become a game, I'd be super interested in getting it.

lol I actually was inspired partly by Voices of the Void, but moreso by its predecessor Signal Simulator! I just really like the idea of combining menial tasks with existential threats I guess. For the record though there would be no jump scares planned lol.

I've had the idea in my head for over a year, and since I honestly don't know if I'll ever get around to trying it I figured I should do SOMETHING with it. As for how realized it actually is, well I'm not honestly sure!

Thanks for all the kind words!

Space politics and being a meterologist? Now that sounds like a high-stakes job.

I love how you made the interface and presented the screenshots. This feels straight out of the game if it had existed!

Great work!

Developer

Thank you!

It's a job combination you don't think about much, but gets intriguing after reading the Dune novels tbh.

I suck at making drawings, but can place assets together and make basic UI pretty quick in Unity and GIMP, so I just went with what I know lol. I also wanted to make it a more clear proof of concept in case I either tried to develop it, or if someone else wanted to make their own version of it.

What an amazing concept!! Very into space politics, and it's great to see a non-illustration in this jam. I hope you get the chance to continue developing this!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words! Yeah I'm not very good at drawing, and since I've had the idea for this game in my head for over a year I decided to just make a 3D mockup. I'm happy someone else likes the idea of space politics too lol, I don't know if I'll ever actually make this game but you never know!

I would definitely play this. Such a fantastic idea to family!

Developer

Thanks! I still don't know if I'll ever actually have time to make it, but I'm jsut happy I was able to do something with it lol.

The premise for this game is amazing 🤯 love the planet graphics as well.

Developer

Thank you! I've had the idea for over a year now and didn't think I'd have time to do anything with it so I joined this jam lol.

The planet graphics I actually took from this asset pack: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/level-design/planetgen-procedural-planets-163535. Actually thanks for unintentionally reminding me I forgot to add credits for the assets I used!
