Artist's Statement
For some of us, this was our first game jam. This was one of the first narrative-based games we've put together and also one of our first WebGL games ever built. It was a delightful challenge to develop a game intended for the visually impaired and we think this experience has been incredibley valuable. We absolutely plan on continuing development and hope everyone enjoys!

Congrats on making your first game together!

This game is mostly a radio drama with light interactive fiction elements. In it we awake to everything going wrong in our spaceship, with limited time to perform emergency maintenance. The sci-fi setting is clearly shown through its writing, and complemented well with careful sound selection. Getting our marrow extracted produces a particularly gruesome sound. At times I wished our decisions were more impactful, but I’m satisfied with the few branches I did take.

Everything here is fully voiced, but with variable quality like that of a Zoom call. Regardless it was great to hear you all in the game and on its credits screen. Something to revisit would be adding a control to access the credits from the main menu so we can all say hello.

As others have pointed out, there are some issues with the screens advancing before the dialogue has been fully read aloud. Being sighted, I was able to get the gist by skimming the text before it was cut off. Once fixed I believe it’d be a perfectly playable and enjoyable narrative experience. Please let us know when you have that solved.

Thanks for your submission. Good work!

Keys worked for me, but both on itch io and your site sometimes next screen appears too soon and interrupts audio, sometimes it loads but audio won't begin (I am on Linux, Chrome). Voice acting is nice tho

Unfortunately I can't get the game to progress past the splash screen.  I tried fullscreening, disabling my adblocker and popup protection, unloading my screen reader ETC but nothing worked.  I'm on the latest version of Chrome with Windows 10 64 Bit.
I'm really glad to hear that you guys want to continue development though!  If you need any help finding free and legal audio resources, or with basic sound design or testing by an experienced audio game player just let me know.  You can email me at superfreq2@gmail.com or DM me on the No Video Jam Discord.

I'm really sorry to hear it's not working for you! I noticed I sometimes have to click into the game window for it to be responsive. It's also not appearing perfectly centered in the screen like it was when I built it (not sure of all the things uploading it to Itch actually does to it). If you really can't get it to work, I've got it on my personal site where it might work better: https://paulharden.net/NoVideoJam/index.html

I really appreciate the offer too! Everyone that worked on this game is either an illustrator, writer or 3D artist, and this was an interesting project to do with none of us really having any audio experience. We've been thinking about making these types of games episodically, so I may definitely contact you for some assistance.
