Artist's Statement
Many things! It is the first game of me, where no camera Object is used, which ment i had to spent more time on sounddesign. Overall, i think the Game is a success!

Congrats on participating in your first jam!

Trapped within an advanced robotics facility, a maniacal artificial intelligence leads unsuspecting test subjects through a gauntlet of increasingly lethal challenges. These challenges involve using stealth to navigate around walls and killer robots to reach an exit. The writing is catty, dark, and usually hilarious. If Aperture Sciences is a product of 1950s post-war America, then NS-Robotics is its Soviet analog.

The best aspect of its sound design is its robots. A range of textures, from vacuum cleaners to chainsaws, show us how our nemeses can instantly turn from harmless appliances to dangerous killers. And inside the facility everything reverberates to give it a big industrial warehouse feel.

Overall the initial impression is solid but it can grow exhausting quickly without some quality of life improvements. By the maze filled with robots, we’ve heard most of our antagonist’s quips. Adding collision sounds when running into walls could help us better navigate the space (but the jokes should be kept to spice it up). At times our antagonist is drowned in reverb and difficult to understand, and others it suffers from a wide dynamic range that can jump from a whisper to a scream unexpectedly. I imagine it’s coming from a loudspeaker somewhere above, but having it piped directly center into our ears might suffice.

Thanks for your submission. Good work!

Ok, i have looked back in unity and it shouldn´t even be possible to adjust the volume of the Menu Voice! Weird.

If anyone has the same problem/s as bradley22, let me know! If further information can be given i can try and solve the issue.

The game starts at zero volume for me. I learned from a user on our Discord that we need to press 5 a few times to raise it to an acceptable level before we can hear the menu. Feel free to update your build with a different default volume level.

Developer

Hmm, that seems to be the case for some people. Normally the volume should start at default 1 and then the volume you set it too. I am sorry, that it´s not clear!

I am sorry, that the game does not seem to work for you. I downloaded the game myself and it works perfectly. There must be something wrong with the file you downloaded! Maybe try reinstalling the game would solve the problem.

Hi bradley22. Could you try pressing 5 a few times when the game first starts? That worked for me.
