Glad you learned a lot from this project! It's a cool concept indeed. Like @kosmotion I was wondering how to attack and then finally found the controls tiny up in the left upper screen :D

Was struggling until I realized that I can attack 😂

And I think I finished the game...

Overall it was fun to try capturing areas and at the same time destroy light balls.

There are lot to improve but I see that you have done a LOT with the grid system and path finding.

Normally this would be a laggy game but you also have found a way to implement list of blocks and an AI system to find the closest.

Nice Job. Thanks for participating!

Thank you so much for playing my first game.

I learned a ton from this project using path finding and grid system so Im glad you realized that!

I'm exited to keep going with game jams in the future since the community surrounding this one was super helpful and encouraging!

Thanks again for the critique!

Very nice game. Love the minimap and how the game progressively gets darker as you filled the map. The core gameplay is simple yet fun. Just like many others have said before, would like to see more of this.

Developer

The mini map is a second camera's viewport with a transparent background.

I'm glad you enjoyed my game, and I can't wait to keep going with these experimental projects since they were so rewarding and fun!

Thank you for playing!

I liked how it got darker as you filled the squares in. Fun game! I'd love to see how this looks with some more detailed 3d models and sound

Thank you so much for playing my game!

I'm able to modify the games light skybox by rotating the directional light object on an axis to simulate the sun setting proportional to how many tiles are converted.

I loved making this!

This idea is amazing and the mechanic is legit.
I wanted to see so much more of this, I hope you use it in a future project.

Developer

I love that you enjoyed it so much!

I was planning on implementing a boss when the stage was fully covered in darkness, but time constraints happened.

I may revisit in the future when I get more comfortable with blender or music production.
