- This was very well done! The art and design were so cohesive, super remarkable for a game made in one week! I do see the building connections theme, but I think it could have come across a bit louder because it seemed more of a Solitaire-like card game with the theme not fully explored. Gameplay-wise, I would have liked for the cards to turn over on clickthrough instead of on click and drag, as it made the interface a little fiddly. I also wish it was possible to reshuffle and redraw, as with Solitaire, or there was a more definite ending -- it often felt like I had simply run out of cards and moves, and was left with no choice but to leave the game. It was very enjoyable, and once these minor kinks are smoothed out, I can see this becoming a very replayable, very fun game. The art direction is already perfect, and the lore of Kaalub is very intriguing. Great work!

Beautiful, seriously; love the artwork. Going to play a little more to provide feedback on gameplay but had to comment right when I booted it up
Didn't beat the game, but that is reaally impressive! The art is astonishing and the overall feeling is one of a very polished game! Congratulations to all of you!
Something about the art just really makes it look so good!
As someone who normally do not play pure card games, this is a very interesting take on them!
Hey thank you so much for playing!! We're so happy we could bring more people closer to card games thanks to our little project! π
The art!!! Took a while to beat just because I wanted to study every card. Amazing project - congrats to the whole team <3
Thank you so much for your kind comment and for your effort in playing Kaalub so thoroughly! π«π Will probably add more pictures to the page with all the illustrations in the deck!
I'm not a fan of card games, but the tarot theme is always fascinating! Amazing card design and great game design. I don't understand how it was possible to draw a design for 40 cards in a week!! Very cool, I wish you further success in game development!
Thank you so much for your kind comment and for playing and testing out something that it's not among your usual tastes! π Yeah I can't hide that doing 40 cards in 7 days (actually less) has been quite a challenge, I finished the assets like 2 hours from the deadline π
This is crazy, hahaha
the game looks incredible, I couldn't pass it but I enjoyed a lot!
Thank you very much for playing! We're happy you enjoyed Kaalub!
This is incredible! I love the tarot aesthetic and the mechanics are fun as well to have some healthy strategy. I managed to beat it on my first try so I feel good however Kaalub couldn't give me an answer at this time lol.
It's incredible how all the cards look as well. Is there any other future plans for this game or is it already finalized?
Heyyy thank you so much for playing and for your kind comment and compliments!! βΊοΈ
We don't expect many changes to the original concept of the game in the next future, but based on the comments received so far in the next few days we will:
1. Do some gameplay improvements to make the gameplay more intuitive and less frustrating
2. Change some of the sound effects
3. (Maybe) Implement a "hard mode"
4. If we still have time, do some graphic improvements and/or redesign the main screen
Hope this answers your question! π
One of the most best I have seen so far. Music is absolutely awesome. Never gets tiring. Hell, I lit some incense and turned the lights out and am having a blast with this and its theme. I've lost 5 rounds and I want to beat this game. Only thing I can complain about is how wheu you stack on a non ace pile. It's hard to know how many cards you have underneath. Not sure if that was designed like that specifically for extra challenge. But it does get a bit annoying having to look through the discard pile every time I'm not sure If my card is underneath a a stack. A button to press when hovering over a stack to show them fan out would be real neat. Something like that so players can keep track of things just a bit easier. But man, this is solid stuff. Really enjoying this and I have ben playing for a solid 20 mins.
Will be back to add more comments after I beat this game.
edit: It seems that switching a card from the hand into the other position of the hand still counts off one of the candles. Idk about that lol.
edit 2: That was fun. Donated to the cause. Well worth it.
Hey man, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your insightful feedback and also for the donation!! I wanted to take some time to answer in full to your comment.
1. Like we didn't even think of finding a solution to the card stacking issue until you mentioned but it makes so much sense. Indeed, you can't know how many are there without using Kaalub's hand or other available spaces on the board. We are taking this seriously and commit to working on a stacked cards viewer as a second iteration. We don't know when we will be able to finalize but it's the first thing on our list! π«‘
2. About Kaalub detracting sorcery power when trying to give her back the same card in a different position: you really have to understand that being a millenary demon of obsessions with a lust for human desires and having random players asking you to hold cards for them does make you a bit of a b****
3. Thank you again for your time, your comment really made our day! π
1. Glad I was able to point point in the direction of small improvement.
2. HAHAH. That's hilarious. One more thing about that. If that aspect were to stay. I'd consider an alternate sound to trigger like an evil laugh to indicate to the player "Hey you f***, this is dark magic you are dealing with here. Don't just be moving cards around willy-nilly without considering the consequences"
3. You bet! This game made my day really. I was smiling ear to ear as I started playing it. Hope to see more from you in the future!!!
It's really cool! Bravo to your entire team! Now, you just need to add a lot of feedback and juice, and it would be awesome
Thank you so much for your feedback! βΊοΈ
Great game! The music and art were so immersive! I was sucked into it and had a good laugh at the end. Took me... 3 or 4 tries to beat it! I was never any good at card stacking games haha. The sorcery points were cool! Was there a reason playing a card from drawing onto one of the four corner piles didn't give a sorcery point? I'm not sure if that would have made it too easy or not! Great game!
Yep, it is intended that you shall only get points from cards piled in the central cross - otherwise you would get into a loop of infinite sorcery points π tried to beta-test it enough with physical cards before implementing the videogame but surely it can be made more challenging and interesting keeping on iterating on it and adding some more mechanics βΊοΈ
Didn't manage to beat it :D But the art is pretty dope!
Thank you!
