  • Thanks for joining our jam! I think it was an interesting concept, although the gameplay was a bit sparse. I misinterpreted a call on the second day that just sounded like it was somebody inviting somebody else to dinner. It was very extremely half-century old American coded, and a lot of people would miss the colloquialisms without being familiar with both the history and way of speaking. I did enjoy the choice of background music, very old-timey, and it was interesting to read little tidbits about random people's days back then. The art style was a little too simplistic, being a brown maze on a black background with some whitebox text and a map in the upper right I didn't really pay attention to. I understand that the fundamental gameplay is just picking between finishing the maze or rejecting suspicious calls, but if the role was to be a switchboard operator, I think it would have been more fun to do something that related more to that, such as having an actual switchboard to make connections between callers. I do see the vision with the maze though, although the randomly generated mazes were sometimes a little too easy. Handmade mazes might have actually been better so you could manually escalate the difficulty and ensure that no maze was too easy.

Made it up to day 2, until I misinterpreted a call 😆 Loved the background music! Would maybe change the type of puzzle proposed because the labyrinth didn't feel very in line with the theme!

Keep up the good work!
