Love this game ! Graphics are really great, I'm amazed ! The musics fit perfectly. You have created a perfect atmosphere. Great work !
Pros
Cons
Overall: fantastic game, I loved it! I'm still in awe at the visuals, absolutely incredible and beautiful. Amazing work!
Thank you so much for your kind words!!! We're aware of the audio issues and are hoping to get that sorted out in a post-voting patch! Your game also looks really cool. I'm hoping to dig into it later tonight :D
I loved the overall tone of the game (: The art and music complements the writing and I enjoyed every path I took. Awesome work !
I don't know if it was intended, but I got an ending(?) where the game just shut down, seems to be like it wasn't the intention since everything else was very well crafted and we can see you put a lot of care into the game. The art is really good, very unique and helps with the immersion, and since you have a great art team I'm gonna go ahead and "complain" about the Lovecraftian way of solving the horror and just saying "it's very scary, trust me" but your art is very good so maybe show it to us? Pleaseee? :D congratulations, it's a very well made visual novel!
The ending where the game shuts down was intentional! Though there is also a path that abruptly leads straight to the credits while talking to the deer which wasn't ^-^;
Hopefully once the jam is over we can add a patch that cleans things up, so it's more obvious what was intentional and what wasn't! (For example, there are a lot of glitches with the music we only realized were there after the submission period ended...)
Thank you for the compliments on the art btw! We worked very hard on that!
Interesting story, with some good writing. I had the same issue as SciDechse with one path abruptly closing the game, and I agree that the audio style didn't seem to quite fit. But overall I think you did a good job, and I may have to play a few more times to see what other weird options I can find lol.
Thanks for playing! I do want to say the ending where the game closes was very much intentional, but considering there are some other glitches in the game like audio overlapping and a route that cuts to credits prematurely, I get that it can be difficult to determine what was intentional vs not. We're hoping to put out a patch post-voting that will clean up those issues!
I really like the spooky atmosphere here, and the sense of danger lurking everywhere. The backgrounds are beautiful and the characters look great. Personally, I find the audio a bit grating, but I guess that's a matter of taste.
The game definitely hits the "magical" part of the theme, but I'm not sure if there is enough of the "realism" part.
The story is very interesting, and I enjoyed exploring the different branches of it. It's a pity that two paths seem to lead nowhere - one abruptly leads into the credits, and one makes the game shut down without warning.
Thanks for playing!! I agree we may have missed the mark slightly on the theme. I think we did well with the magical elements representing real life issues, but you're right that the world itself is lacking in realism. (And thank you for the compliments on the backgrounds, I did those!! <3)
One of those paths (the one that goes abruptly to credits) was unintentional, and we're hoping to fix it in a post-voting patch! The one where the game shuts down was very much intentional. Hopefully once we clean things up (like the audio issues where two tracks often overlap) it will become easier to tell what was intentional!
Ah, I see! I was kinda hoping that this one was intentional - it does make sense in a nicely surreal way. But it's really hard to tell that it's not a bug. I can't say how I would fix that without ruining the effect, but I'll gladly return to play it again when you release the patch. After all, I still need to finish that other remaining path.
