I liked this. I'm always a sucker for retellings of classic tales.

You asked for constructive criticism, so here you go (I guess this technically needs a spoiler warning):

- I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but you can enter the hills without talking to the children first. Which seems a little bit off because then you don't make a deal with them like you would if you select the play option.

- You can have the same conversation with the woman and her husband twice if you follow the path >chat>play or look>look or play>chat

-This applies to playing for the town first and last, too

-You have to look around town twice if you start with that and do the other two as well.

I recommend double checking your if statements in your menus.

Oof I guess I missed those when play testing. Thanks for pointing those out! I tried to fix most of the code but I had to squeeze the game out in time for the game jam so I'll probably fix those else if clauses in my next game! Thank you for playing and I appreciate the comment homie~ ^_^

This was a cool visual novel with a really familiar story that I might have heard from somewhere before as the ending for the game was quite predictable for me. The art-style of the game and the amount of effort put into making the game must be a lot as the art for the game was able to create a creepy and weird atmosphere for the game. I enjoyed the story-telling and usage of music for the game and would hope to see more from the creator in the future.
