About the game:

I've been working on this project for 3 days. I started off with by just taking this really cool asset pack. I really love the game Celeste, so I decided to steal the dash mechanic, which gets replenished every time you get an orb. I also decided to change the player's color when their dash is depleted, similar to how Madeline's hair in Celeste changes color.

I don't know how I'm going to integrate the theme yet. Thankfully it's only optional.

I also don't know if I'll be keeping with the Celeste style platformer. I might turn it into a puzzle platformer or a metroidvania instead.

Here are some other stuff I've implemented:

About me:

I actually started learning Godot earlier this year, but university got in the way. I've finished most of my big projects for this semester, so I decided to get back to learning game dev. I have a bad habit of not finishing what I started, so hopefully this post will force me to finally finish a game.

Cool

I Really liked how you re-created the dash mechanic, but i think you missed the effect there it will be nice if you add it

Great Start

Thanks! Yeah, I'm definitely going to add the dash effect and some other juice too.

Keep it up

I added some dash juice. Now there's a silhouette trail, particles, and screen shake when you dash. There's also some screen shake when you get hurt.

Thanks! The falling spikes are hard to work with but they look  cool.

I haven't been able to work on the game for a while because of all my projects piling up. I was able to squeeze some time to add a wall slide and wall jump mechanic with a stamina system. Again reminiscent of Celeste. I opted for a simple wall slide instead of a climb mechanic because I thought it fit the character of a ninja more.

Hopefully I can add some more stuff before the deadline.

PS: I know the wall slide animation is kinda bad. I just modified the asset pack's fall animation lol.
