This is really good! Very moody and sentimental and the way the reverse piano swells is my favorite bit.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I am really glad you like the piano swells too! I participated in a jam just before this one and found out just how much I liked how reverse piano swells sound, so I decided to implement some in this song!

I like the transfer of the motif across voices and you created a really satisfying loop! Echoing others that this definitely feels beyond beginner so hopefully you feel a more confident after this 🥳 if I could give any suggestions, I think you could try being more a little more adventurous harmonically (everything is pretty much diatonic in minor) and you could play with the rhythm and placement of the motif more - but that's just icing on top. Great work!

Thank you it means a ton! And your feedback is appreciated! I will definitely try and explore harmonics more, I always like when songs have tons of non-scale notes and I am kind of realizing from your feedback I'd like to practice on it more to improve that area! I may end up going back to the song file just to experiment with rhythms too!

Also, I remember you from the sandbox jam, it is nice to see you here as well!

Nice to see some familiar "faces" :)

This is a really great piece, I would never think you were a beginner! :o I love the instrument blend you chose! There's an overall really nice sense of space too and each voice is clear and balanced :) very well done!

Developer

Thank you, your compliments mean a lot! I am especially glad you like the space because it was one of the things I wanted to work on the most to do better on!

im surprised you consider yourself a beginner w music like that, well done

Developer

Thank you a ton! I would feel better in between beginner and intermediate if it were an option. I have certainly made much worse haha

I quite enjoyed the way instruments would echo! This track was a great vibe! Also the xylophone was great!

Developer

Thank you very much! The xylophone was one of the last touches I ended up adding, so I am glad you liked it! Also, it is nice to see someone else from the sandbox jam here!

I think this may belong in intermediate+ 😝. Great work, love those pitch dips.

Developer

Thank you, that's an amazing compliment! I did feel a bit out of place with the tiering so that may be part of it haha, I feel like I'd fit better in between beginner and intermediate; I'd say I have around an intermediate understanding of composing but a still beginner understanding of my DAW and mixing fundamentals, or I may just be a little harsh on myself. Thanks for listening!
