I like the premise, the idea of catching projectiles to stop them destroying the platforms you're standing on, but the game feels quite clunky. Personally I would increase the radius within which you can grab a ball, make the level over a bottomless pit, and stop the platforms from respawning. But I like the general presentation and background art. I think with better controls and more polish, this idea could really come to something.
Cool artwork. I like the Creepy red eye in the sky!
Not entirely sure what genres this is a mix of? Platformer and ... dodgeball?
Notes:
- What is the point of the game? Do I want to survive as long as possible, catch as many balls as quickly as possible, or just catch as many balls as possible? Basically, there's no point in protecting the platforms since they respawn anyway and are actually pretty useless to begin with
- What's to stop me from just standing in a corner and spamming E? There doesn't seem to be a cooldown or any downside to pressing it a bunch
- The jump doesn't seem to work most of the time
- The itch page is very nicely put together. I like the background art.
- The icon for the game exe is also very nice
- The words "Catch it!" show up so quickly that you can't really read them without getting distracted. Seems like that should be replaced with something like lines next to the character's head like when you can counter in the batman arkham series instead so you don't have to in such a quick timeframe.
- I like how the platforms are 3D. The lighting is very nice
- The music is pretty nice and relaxing
Basically, I like the art and music, I just wish the gameplay had more direction and interesting choices to make. Thanks for making the game!
