Just completed your game, and came here to give some feedback!
Overall i really liked the feeling this game gave me, from the music to the graphics and notes. But there were also some choices that you took, that puzzles me a bit.
First of all, there's the navigation issue, but i see you have already gotten feedback on that, so i won't go into that any further. The first thing that annoyed me a bit, is that doors that i have previously unlocked will become locked when i go back to the phone, and they will also be locked until they guy tells me to go there, even if i already have the key. Also, i can touch more or less nothing before the guy on the phone tells me i can, and I would have loved to be able to at least know what these questionmarks meant, especially the ones that were mirrors. I went back and forth to the cabin a lot of times, not understanding why i couldn't progress, until i figured out that there were multiple mirrors that i had missed. I think all of these problems could have been fixed, had you been able to bring the phone with you, and the guy would call whenever you finished a task. That would lead to less backtracking and less frustration. The other thing, was the switch that had to be turned. I get how you wanted it to feel old and rusty, and that it was hard for Dexter to turn, but it left me wondering what i had to do, before finally coming back and just clicking "Try again" 10 times or so. Great in theory, but gameplay wise it feels bad. Also i didn't see anywhere that the shovel were being used? Maybe you could solve this by having dexter use an item to flick the switch?
I hope you don't take this critisism too seriously. I'm just here to give feedback, and i've only put so much work into writing and thinking about this because i generally really liked the game. Also the ending was really unexpected. I'd love even more things to do, more things to feel mysterious (Like the void, that was really mysterious and left me wanting to know what that was all about), and more background story for this forest. Great job!

Thanks for the honest feedback. Now I know more things I can improve in my next games. I really messed up most of the things because of the less time. I will try to make it more crisp and polished next time. Thanks for playing the game and also thanks for the comment. I really appreciate it. ;)

Very cool point-and-click with a mysterious vibe. Alas, I could not figure out how to get into the ruins in the north-east and could not finish :( I must say though, I love the music choice for this! Great job. Also, thanks for the Linux build!

I actually didn't have too bad of a time navigating. I was able to learn the map pretty quickly. It may have been a bug or something I missed but even after the person on the phone said to go to the North-East ruins, it still said "Locked" when I tried to enter.

Oh that one, just the next area east to the cabin there is exclamation mark where you have to try 5 times to move the switch which will open the door of the mansion ruins. I forgot to tell that in game so that the player could know what to do to open the door. My bad.

I do like how unique this game is but it's hard to navigate when you don't know which spot on the map is where you came from.

Developer

Yeah I saw that problem when I told my sister to play test the game. I think I might add navigation marker on the map(or something like that) after the voting ends, btw THANKS for playing the game. ;)
