Loved the game, although I totally suck at managing the birds, it feel really well done. During my first solo game jam, I also attempted a DDR style game (with no music lmfao) but I had a hard time making the hits feel responsive and timed well. In this game, the challenge felt really laid out, and that the only thing holding me back way my skill and because the game did not work reliably.

I also agree that once the birds swapped positions or overlapped, I forgot which button mapped to each bird.

Very impressive project to me, fantastic job. If I may ask, do you feel like this game accomplished what you set out for it to achieve? To me it seems like you wanted to make a rhythm game with unconventional controls and it turned out great. What do you think?

Thanks!

Yea, I guess I achieved what I intended. I was worried from the start that the controls would be too unintuitive and annoying, but I really liked the concept so I went for it. It's probably better than I expected, but I still find them kind of anxiety inducing hah, my hope is that there is some threshold you could get past to actually get in to the flow of it.

Wonderful concept! The controls are too difficult to understand, especially at the pace of the game. Maybe just adding some indicators, like which bird is matched to which buttons, would help. A lot of potential here.

It's a really difficult game, my high score is 181 but these birds move so funny! And the music is awesome! :D

What a visually pleasing entry!! The song made me chuckle as it fits being in a farm. Almost sounds like something i would hear in a children's book narration. The birds kind of freak out by jumping really quickly or just moving around very rapid once i move them to a spot. Doesn't happen all the time but for some reason mostly with the white bird lol.

I am going to be honest, this is VERY hard as I was expecting to use just my keyboard like a traditional PC DDR game. I found myself fumbling a lot in the beginning so in my opinion, game play will be quite hard to pick for anyone not familiar with the genre let alone the controls. However, I think you did mention that you were attracting more of a seasoned DDR player so that might be the target audience you're looking for.

Great entry and I hope you continue to work on it!!

Thanks! :)

Yea, the controls will take some getting used to, soo hard not to default to A for left pad etc. I'm not completely past that myself. The song is from runescape, they made their soundtrack free to use for anyone. Pretty nice of them I gotta say.
