Very cool idea! I wish the jumping had been more satisfying, but I think with some finessing of the engine, and the addition of "moves" you have a really cool game!

Developer(+1)

Hi. Thank you. Yeah, I would have tweaked the jumping mechanics with a bit more time. I think the are quite fitting to give the C64 feel, but once you maxed out the loopings there isn't much to do. And they also feel a little stiff.

Very addictive. Just frustrating enough to make you want to try again and again. Fun game!

Developer

Thank you. :)

Loved it! (despite the fact I'm terrible at it lol, took me a while to get some scores)

I really liked the artstyle, simple and clean and it's actually pretty fun and addicting, wonderful job <3

Thank you very much. ๐Ÿ˜€ Especially because I always struggle to make games fun.

The restrictions of jamming seem to help in that regard. ๐Ÿ˜

I feel that, considering this is my first jam I managed to start making some really big steps on that regard ^^

Very simple, but very fun! Had a highscore of 300 at the end. Got C64 vibes from it.

Developer(+1)

Thank you. 300 is a very good score. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Glad you catched the C64 vibes. ๐Ÿ˜

Thank you very much. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I do like the simplicity of this project.

A couple jump, few controls, and you have a little game that will make you keep trying a few times to get a higher score! And once you understand when to jump right, you can fit a few more spins than you'd expect into one try. I managed to get a high score of 350 from it!

I wasn't sure about the size of the sprites at the beginning, but fitting the whole slope into the screen gives some good sizing and contains the game rather well, I gotta say. I guess it's because like this you're less reacting to what comes up and more planning what you're gonna do when you get to a point of the slope.

The few tunes that play are also very nice and c64-ish, and it has that arcade "just try and try again to see how good you can get at it" feel that I can appreciate.

Overall, I like it!

Developer(+1)

Hi, thank you. I consider 350 currently as the max. score one can get, so congrats. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜

I initially planned to have a longer track, with the camera following the player, but scrapped that due to time constraints. In the end I'm quite happy with it, for the reasons you mentioned. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I grew up with the C64, so I wanted to get some of that nostalgia in. ๐Ÿ˜

Really cool simplistic game, reminds me of the game SkiFree which brought up some memories.

Good job mate!

Developer

Thank you. I tried to accomplish something reminiscent of the old sport games on C64 (Summer Games, Winter Games, ...).

Loved the rolling dialogue and use of different colors. Couldn't get a score higher than 250, but it was good fun!

Developer(+1)

I made sure to use a color scheme designer to get matching colors. ๐Ÿ™‚ The rolling text is something I got from International Karate (C64) ๐Ÿ˜.

The highest score that I got to manage was 350. The crowd should get extra excited at that score. ๐Ÿ˜…

Oh that's awesome! I thought it was a bit louder when I got 250, but then I was like "nah must be in my head".

Great little game! I love the simplicity of it and I can see that thought and effort was put into the gameplay. The atmosphere is definitely on point, well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you. Yes, I tried to be somewhat consistent in the art and sound design. ๐Ÿ™‚ For the gameplay I had a few more things in mind, but had to keep it simple due to the time constraints.
