I worked alone! The only thing not done by me is the SFX which were downloaded from a free pack by Atelier Magicae

Software used
Godot 4.0, aseprite, blennder

Use of the limitation
Fusion by fusing cards, changing the environment as the movement of the cards and destroying and fusing when overlapping, cards properties changing by the terrain. Make sure you visit the game page for controls and tutorial!

Okay, please tell me how you rewrote Duelist of the Roses in three days oO
I mean, what?! This is just awesome.

Okay yeah, I can break the UI. So what? Just have to return into the basic state, enter the card UI again and its fine! (Issue is: Open Card Inventory, choose two cards two fuse, deselect the fuse, then trying to place a card does not work anymore until UI of Card Inventory is left)

Okay yeah, maybe I broke the AI as she stood in the corner against my 10 of Diamonds with field power bonus (every 5 seconds there was a scroll sound but nothing happened anymore). But the way, how the UI behaved. I mean... she behaved! Did things. How did you make that? Did you reuse code? Did you sleep? I want to learn from you my friend.

Furthermore the game looks great?! Sound nice?! This is an incredible great work, much of respect from here.

Thank you so much! this comment is really sweet

I didn't sleep much, and I focused to finish this project with every waking hour, having like 1 or 2 hour break each day total

its expected to have bugs on release, I feel I hacked up the AI and it wasn't too well thought of, I made it just emulate player inputs based on some calculations and did it in 5 hours, its prone to breaking very easily >_>

The bug you mentioned might not be a bug, I think i just didnt make it clear what's going on, you likely did not have enough APs to summon (you need to have the same or more AP than the same number of the first card of the queue)

I did not reuse any code, I just forced myself to keep working til release! I'm glad you enjoyed, the SFX isnt mine though, only thing I didn't really do, but I'm glad you think it fits

Honestly I think I like the visual presentation the most. The style just scratches my brain a lot lol. I also gotta give you some props for designing and putting together a game this complex. Really good job!

Thank you! I worked really hard and Im glad people are enjoying what they are playing!

To be fair about the design, it is inpired by another game called "Yugioh Duelist of the Roses" but it was still difficult translating the mechanics from yugioh cards to normal playing cards and adjusting the rules as such. It was still a challenge implementing it!

Really cool concept, but it's very complicated. Once I figured things out it was somewhat fun, though.

That's how board games kinda are, so it comes with the territory haha, thanks for playing! Im glad you enjoyed it

This game was hard to wrap my head around because it felt like chess but if it had cards, and the tutorial broke so I had to figure it out ;/ In my one game i played the AI also broke, but the concept and presentation I thought was super cool especially for a 1 man thing

I will be adding a tutorial thing on the game page itself shortly, the tutorial didnt break i just didnt have time to write it haha

The AI is also very finicky... AI in a game like this needs more time

Thanks though!

The tutorial is now just added!
