I've seen this idea a lot, in this jam or in previous ones, but the realization makes yours stand out. I got a bit lost at first because I didn't realize you could turn, but that made it a good surprise when I discovered it :D
I might be doing something bad, but I couldn't finish the first potion. I was asked something floral, red and bitter. I made something red, floral and sweet, and added an ingredient that was supposed to make it bitter ("anything floral becomes bitter" I think, or "anything sweet", can't remember), but it never became bitter :(

I also like your writing, it got me in the mood pretty easily!

Nice potion mixing game!

I also like how it starts in 2D but then you can turn 90 degrees!

Loved the concept!! I think there be some bugs though, because the first time I played the potion needed to be red, but there wasn’t anything that even mentioned red in my options :(. Overall though, this is a game I would probably sit on my phone and play for way too long haha, great concept and would definitely love to se a polished complete version of it!!

Hello, and, first of all, thank you for your comment.
When you say that there was no 'red' in the options, was there no 'yellow' or 'magenta' ingredient? The colour mixing works under CMYK (subtractive) colour model, not RGB (additive).

OH, wow, ok ok. My bad! Let me give it another go!!

The way you solved having different views through camera rotation is top notch!

I also enjoyed the puzzle-heavy mechanic of potion mixing

I loved playing this potion making game! The design is very cool and is a bit tricky but that makes it exciting!  You wanna give them those potions and it's sooo sastisfying when you succeed! Unfortunately, I get blocked on the second potion :( I created something blue, with floral flagrance and sweet taste, shoud it be the opposite? blue with sweet flagrance and floral taste?

Developer

Hello and, first of all, thank you for your comment.
What you are describing sounds like a bug and I'm sorry for that. Blue, sweet and floral brew should be accepted for #2, no matter the order. Only thing that comes to mind is that maybe the brew lacked a poison?

The Moving Camera Mechanic is so good - sorry but I need to make my own prototype with the camera mechanic for another jam xD

How did you came across the Idea?

Developer

Hello, and, first of all, thank you for your comment.
Assuming that you're asking about the camera, I was inspired by old dungeon crawlers, or, in other words, 'Ultimalikes'. If you'd like some pointers, there is currently a Dungeon Crawler Game Jam on itch, although I'm not taking part right now. Probably the most recent popular rendition of the genre would be the Legend of Grimrock series, which I have enjoyed greatly.

Great execution for a potion making game. would have been nice if the potion sprites had hints to what they do to a potion. Quite tricky but still fun, good job!

Hello, and, first of all, thank you for your comment.
Sadly, the separate ingredient sprites were cut as the deadline drew near. Along with a newer bucket sprite : )
